A new favorite
Love this cookbook so much that after buying the Kindle version I’ve ordered a hard copy. All the Marathi food lore I ever wanted, plus some delish recipes!

Good book for a non-maharashtrian
The book is good for non-Maharashtrians. If you are a Maharashtrian you will be well accustomed with most of the recipes from the book. I bought the book in the hope to find some new/very old recipes which I didn’t but I still enjoyed going through the book. If you are into collecting food books then it’s a good addition to the collection.

Draws you in
One thing about Saee, is that she is a wonderful food chronicler. Not only does she spend time extensively researching her recipes, and painstakingly testing hem, she has the most wonderful food stories for each.I absolutely loved the chapter on chutneys!Must buy to add to your cookbook shelf.

Very well researched and comprehensive
I absolutely loved this book! The deatils of the various sub-regions of Maharashtra, the history and influences on the cuisine, the various types of masalas are described in detail. Every week I am cooking something or the other referring to this book. Very well researched and comprehensive.I would have loved to give it a 5 star rating but for lack of photos. I guess that is the thing with online. I would never have bought it if I had seen the inside with such few pics. But that aside, it is a great addition to my collection.

A culinary delight interspersed with childhood anecdotes
Sai weaves a velvety fabric of food and memories, guaranteed to take you to own childhood flavors, which linger in our conscious, triggered by senses.A good read, one can pick any page and come across a gem of dish or some historical inference or anecdote. Must read for a food lover or History buff..This book made me go for a paperback after 2 yrs on Kindle only :) Its to be treasured and passed on to kids as a tapestry of our culinary delights.
