This story breeds meanness and exclusion
We love Duck & Goose books. The adorably illustrated characters have perfectly animated expressions and the story lines are usually sweet with an underlying audience-appropriate lesson or solution to dilemmas. But the story of "Duck Duck Goose" did not have that underlying good lesson – it addresses a very real dilemma that most children face at some point, but does not have a positive solution to the dilemma. In this story, Duck makes a new friend (Thistle, the grey duck) and Goose feels replaced by this new friend (a very real feeling that lots of children face). Thistle happens to be very competitive, to a point of hurting her budding friendships (also a very real dilemma that lots of children fall into the habit of). But rather than having a healthy "aha" solution to help children learn how to handle these feelings and dilemmas, the book's resolution comes by way of Duck and Goose tricking Thistle into falling asleep behind a bush, at which point Duck and Goose sneak away to play without her. This story breeds meanness and exclusion. Not something I'm about to read lightheartedly to my daughter.

Duck and Goose in need of guidance
We’ve gifted four other Duck and Goose books to our two+ year old granddaughter. We read them often. When we close the books she points to the miniature titles on the back, and likes pointing out the ones she already has in the series.I’m relieved I read this latest one I ordered before we gave it to her. I was unpleasantly surprised with the tone of the book and its conclusion which made me think of middle-school kids who could benefit from a little guidance.I’m sorry to agree with the reviewer who said the book “breeds meanness and exclusion”. I asked for and received a refund but I wish the author would revise the book to offer a kind and hopeful outcome to yes, the real issue he presents in the beginning.

Dont like this one.
My least favorite of the series. The only one so far that I dont like actually. I returned it cause I didn't like the storyline. They're competitive and I just didn't like it. It's not one I'll read with my kids. The book itself was well made, no problems there.

Meh, I don't love it.
I got this in my Amazon book box for ages 0 mos - age 2 and this was my least favorite of all 4 books I received. i plan to keep it and read it to and with my kids but for a board book it really is long-winded and not the quick read I was hoping for. As a busy Mom, I like books that are short and sweet and either rhyme or roll off the tongue and of course have nice pictures to engage the kids. Halfway through flipping through this book I was bored of reading it. This is one I will hope my kids don't pick out of the book pile very often, honestly. I do plan to keep it but I definitely would NOT have picked it out myself if I were at a physical book store browsing....

Not nice book
Very wordy and not a very nice story for little kids. Most of the book is about showing off and putting others down. Huge disappointment for us as the little one LOVES ducks and we were excited to have a book about ducks.

amazing book!
My children absolutely LOVED the book "Duck & Goose How are you feeling?" and I wanted to continue their collection of this masterpiece!! That is what it truly is, a masterpiece in literature, and in design. I would highly recommend it to every person who has children, and who may work with children. It explains feelings in a way that helps little ones identify with in their own lives. It is so very, very thoughtfully written. I was amazed tremendously, as I had been searching for a book that appeals to a very young audience, and I was dismayed at many of the selections I looked through-either the illustrations did not flow well, or the message was difficult to decipher independently, and TAD HILLS books are just exactly what any child would be drawn to, and learn from, and really have a great sense of appreciation for. If you are reading this Mr. Hills, "thank you, thank you, thank you so much!!!!" You really understand children!

Duck and Goose Book Series
In the opinion of my almost 3 year old Grandson, these are the best books ever!!! He received lots and lots of presents this Christmas as he is an only grandchild on both sides of his family. I spent less than $5.00 on this book and another in the series, and he was thrilled. The other toys and books have been put aside for later, while he reads, I read and we both re-read "Duck,Duck, Goose. There is something quite endearing about the little characters in this book, and several of the other books in the series subtlely teach valuable lessons to preschoolers. I also like the cardboard pages as they hold up well with the toddler crowd. 4 thumbs up!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK My family LOVES the duck and goose books. The are so cute and so easy for little ones to follow. It only took a few times of reading through this book for my son to start trying to read it back to me. I would give ANY of the duck and goose books as gifts in a heartbeat.
