Very unique sound, great horn!
I just installed this horn in my girlfriend's 2003 Toyota Echo tonight. I myself have the lower frequency version (400hz + 500hz) in my 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser. That one sounds like a classic American car horn and I love it! My girlfriend just got her Echo a few weeks ago and of course, came with a pathetic sounding motor scooter horn. If any of you out there own a Japanese car, you'll most likely know what I'm talking about......meep meep! Long story short that stock horn was far from loud and would easily get lost on the highway so upgrading it was a MUST. Having had the low frequency version in my PT since June, not having any issues with it, and being very satisfied with it, I knew that another PIAA sports horn would be perfect for the Echo. After listening to a sound clip of this one, I thought the sound of it would fit the Echo better and my girlfriend agreed. As always, Amazon shipping was great and they kept me updated. As for installation in the Toyota, it was pretty easy since there is a considerably big space between the radiator and the grille, and the stock horn was right next to the hood latch. Ironically, the grill is one with the bumper so you have to take the whole front bumper off to have the grill out of the way. But fortunately, I didn't have to do this as there was just enough room for me to work around it. I put the one horn where the stock horn was and the other right next to it below the hood latch as I found a hole to slip a screw through and tightened it on with a nut on the other side. The directions provided with either version of the horns are very clear and simple. I myself have very limited electrical knowledge but the instructions helped me through it. You also do NOT need a relay for this horn as all it needs is a 12V battery to operate and it doesn't draw much power. After installation was complete, I hooked up the battery and it worked! Talk about and tremendous difference in sound and volume. These horns do in fact sound like a European sports car horn and I like the sound of them. That little Toyota Echo will now earn more respect when the horn is used and will have no problem being heard on the highway! Thank you PIAA for making such a great product!!!

Paired these with the superior bass horns for maximum carnage with each honk
I'm gonna be honest these high tones on their own sound pretty funny and will probably get you laughed at on the road but when used alongside the bass horns it actually sounds like a train (without the legality issues of having a real train horn). Its the perfect alternative for the cadillac horn sound at a significantly lower price, its just tuned about 40-60hz higherNote: You will need these horns and the bass horns to achieve the same sound I did

Inexpensive Way to Class Up Your Vehicle!
These horns are a blast! (Pun intended:). For the small price, they take the dull moose horns in most American cars and make them into the sexy European higher tone ones we hear in every movie shot in Europe where the bad guy is rushing through traffic. Great way to make your import sound authentic, and great fun for other brands. This kit comes with the 500 & 600 Mhz horns. Almost all cars in America have a 400 and 500 set. So, although you get both, you really only need to replace the 400 one in your car with the 600 one in the package. Sounds fabulous! So, it you can pick up just the 600 Mhz horn by itself, for a good price, that's all you need. The horns have two spade connectors, which may or may not fit your auto setup. If you are at all handy, installing these is no big deal, BUT, for many cars, you WILL have to cut off the connectors in your car, and splice in new ones, so if you don't even know what "splice" means, or you don't want to cut a wire on your car, better to leave this one. Also, in my case anyway, had to go purchase two female ends (it comes with (2), NOT (4) - and for the 20 cents these cost, think they would be included. All in all, a cheap fun way to spice up your vehicle!

Dead horn after 30 months
This was a second purchase. I bought it on July 2021 for civic 1994 and used it occasionally. I was at the auto sound place to replace the old power door lock motor. The technician tested out the horn and it made a no power noise. He checked both horns with his tool. One of them was dead. I was expecting this to last many years considering it was made in Japan. The first purchase was PIAAA superior bass horn 85115. it was installed by auto technician to replace the single factory horn. It stopped working in less than a month. I thought it was the wiring issue and I went back to the technician. I guessed he just unplugged the wire to the one that was defective. The horn didn't work after 6 months. I thought it was a wiring issue and I didn't want to come back to the technician.

Review of: PIAA 85112 115db 500Hz + 600Hz Sport Horn
I'll start by saying that I purchased these horns for a sport motorcycle (Triump Sprint S/T)... The factory horn on the bike was pathetic at best.... Meep, meep doesn't command any sort of athority on the road, especially on the high way... The PIAA horns came with two horns, the 500Hz and the 600Hz... They are pretty close in size to just about all the factory horns and fit nicely, as well as easily, where the factory horn sat... Pretty easy to manipulate the bracket that came with it as well, so tweeking position is simple too.So, are they louder than the factory horns??? Mind you I only used one of the two (that's all I could simply fit on the bike), so I will state that using just one horn, I believe it is slightly louder than the factory horn, I imagine if somehow you are able to mount both, they would certainly be louder than factory. That being said, I do like the fact that the horn is slightly louder than factory, but more importantly the tone is completely different... Lower frequency tarvels longer, farther, and is more commanding... Deeper and not so wimpy is what I'm getting at... I found the 500Hz too deep and like the sound of the 600Hz better, so that is what I use. Nice to have the 500Hz as a back up if ever needed. Price was pretty good for two horns and cheaper than what I have seen for just the 500Hz alone...I do recommend these as a more manly alternative to the childish factory MEEEP, MEEEP!!!
