Great book! Fun and interesting read for fantasy lovers!
This book, the third in the series, is a great and wonderful read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This time, the series focuses on Sadira. Book 2 of the series focused on Rikus. I'm beginning to see the pattern here. It is followed up with a book focusing on Agis, the third and last of our three heroes to be covered in this amount of detail. The action in this one was great, with enough prose from Denning to make it interesting without being bogged down. I love the Dark Sun setting, and this novel provides some great background material, revealing more of Athasian history and what, and who, caused Athas to be the desert landscape that it is. We learn more about the Dragon of Athas, as well as more about the sorcerer-kings. I look forward to learning more about Athas in the two books left in the series after this one.Sadira makes quite the journey here. She is a strong female protagonist, and that is to be commended. She has to make some tough and thought-provoking decisions during the course of the book, and then deal with the consequences of those. The plot came together very nicely in this one, and I can't wait to see how this series keeps evolving. I highly recommend this book, and this entire series if you have not read it before!

Best of the first three...
This is the best of all books - good action, great characters, interesting settings, magic, and, yes, even a dragon. While each book could be taken alone, there is a plot that started in the first book and continued all the way to this one. And beyond.Sadria is a well balanced character, neither too good or too bad, just a human being, with flaws and merits. She wants to protect the city of Tyr but finds it hard to do, as she finds out more and more about the Dragon of Athas and more about her own magic.Get it new or used.

A nice following of Crimson Legion
A great novel following the Crimson Legion, While the Crimson Legion follows the adventures of Rikus and Neeva, This one is focused on Sadira as the title and the cover suggest. This time we have a good sight on Nibenay and his Sorcerer King; a deep look at the Athas Elven Culture, and the famous Pristine Tower plus some new interesting details about the Champions of Rajaat. Good inspiration source if you are a DM.

I really enjoy this pentad so far
Well told tale. Linear as the rest of the series. The ending is a bit quick, really, but in this case it still felt right. I really enjoy this pentad so far. Dark Sun is a really great world to make stories from.

Better than the last two, still just barely ok.
I was told by a friend with similar tastes in books that this is a good series.I read the first two books, and was underwhelmed. Denning has great difficulty developing his characters, and plots. While the books are extremely imaginative, and may work well as a movie, they are terrible in book format. The number of plot holes you have to ignore, and assumptions you have to make is ridiculous. To read it is to slog through a desert of boredom.I was hoping that this last book would be better than the first two. It is, just barely.

Great book, bad edition
This is a nice enough book, and of course Dark Sun is great. This is, however, a very poor edition: there are typos all the time, almost as if someone had lost the previous typesetting and had given the old book to be copied by someone illiterate! It really destroys the mood at many times. I consider it to be a problem of Wizards of the Coast, trying to squeeze even more money from TSR's stuff, without paying any respect to the material. If you want to read this, buy an older edition.
