Halo SL

I've always had the normal front mounted pack light, last one was by Milwaukee. Most of them I've used have been ok, good spot lighting. Battery life varied a lot but generally good.But this halo light is amazing in the amount of light output even on the low settings. Best in (any) class! Perimeter lighting is great for just general walking around dim or dark jobsites. On high you are lighting up the entire room. Lowest setting on the front facing beam is more then enough to do most work up close. Spot light easily illuminates areas 50 feet or more away, Perfect for looking at areas up in bar joists or just across the site. Higher setting on the perimeter is easily visible for 100's of feet. And the "rotating" light is a must have for outdoor large sites with heavy equipment or if you are doing road work.Battery life is excellent, though I did purchase a few spare batteries and a auto charger so I won't run out mid day. Haven't had any problem with general use and spotlighting work areas for a normal 8 hour day using various levels of light as needed using only the one battery installed full charge in the morning.The best thing though for me is the balance! With the controls on the front section and the battery at the back it is perfectly balanced. And the very light weight is comfortable and you just don't even know you have a fairly large light on your hard hat. That has always been the issue with helmet mounted lights in the past, and why I gave this one a shot. It really is comfortable to wear all day in dark buildings or all night outdoors!I figure I've spent much more on previous lights that were not comfortable or had crappy lighting in the past.I'll try to remember to update this review in a few months on how it's holding up. Or if it fails I will update that as soon as I can.

This light fits my hard hats perfectly. The battery will run all night long with no issues. I purchased an extra battery just so I can have back up but so far have not needed it. The halo light is bright and can be seen across the project even on low, the spot lights are very bright and help light up the work area very well. I was nervous about the amount of money for the light, but it is definitely worth it.

I love this headlamp, it adds a little weight to your hard hat but not enough to complain about. Light is very bright & has several settings. Battery life is pretty good, but you should purchase extra batteries if your going to use a while just to be sure.

This has come I'm really handy for my husband on the job. He's a high voltage lineman and he got to try it out a few weeks ago when we got hit with a nasty storm and he was put on night shifts. He absolutely loved and now the rest of his crew is looking to get one for themselves!

Like the different settings on the forward facing lights. Allows me to conserve battery life when just a little light is needed. Not a big fan of the "halo" part lighting up every time you use the forward facing lights. I'm an instrument tech, so I need the forward lighting for looking in dim J-boxes etc. but don't really need the rest of the light surrounding me. Fit is great on my hardhat. Not very heavy at all, and what weight there is is distributed well. Seems like a solid design.

My company bought us the previous model. It was good except didn’t have much on task lighting(working on things up close). They went above and beyond with this model. It has a few spotlights up front that illuminate everything in front of you. I can blind everyone else on my crew just by looking at them with the strongest setting. A must have for road workers or for working in dark spaces or just working nights period. If you like to see at night and have to wear a hard hat, buy this product.

Used this in a dark elevator shaft the day after it arrived. It provided light not just for me but my coworkers. Battery will last a whole shift on a full charge on all but the highest setting. Constantly being asked where I got it. Highly recommend over a headlamp.

I’m disappointed, I have no problem spending extra for quality but this isn’t it. The LED halo is a good idea, unfortunately there’s a section on mine that flickers off and on. The main forward lights are less than brilliant. And it’s pretty damn heavy! Yeah, no thanks.
