Toppu GP 5
G**Y
Catching its stride
Art: ★★★★☆Story: ★★★☆☆Now that the setting has been established in the first few chapters, Fujishima is making room for story and character development. Rivals have now entered the story, as thin as it is, and there is an urgency to the cliffhanger endings that wasn't present before. Myne, Toppu's older sister, is an adorable character, but not much more than eye candy at this point. Toppu also needs major development. Aside from being the embodiment of willpower, there's not much to his character. The art, however, sells the story for me. The action is crisp and cleanly rendered, the motorcycles are nigh realistic, and the story flow from panel to panel moves fluidly. Fujishima's talent is on full display, though fans of Ah! Megami-sama might be disappointed.
