I wanted to buy a Solar charger for my USB devices while camping. This tiny unit is perfect to throw in the back pack and go. It comes with 3 LED lights that are really bright. I started with all 3 on but soon realized that one was strong enough to light up the room I was in. And I also like the fact that each light has it's own individual switch. The USB socket is located underneath what turns out to be yet another light! The light on the unit itself has 2 settings HIGH and LOW... The High setting is Super bright and the Low is still really bright but that's a good thing in the dark.. And even when the lights are off but the Unit is powered up charging a USB device it has a soothing green glow. Overall I am pleased with the monetary investment. I will be using this all the time and not just for camping because of the fact that I have the option to charge the unit with the Solar panel or with my truck charger while I'm driving. I charged it with the solar panel in full Sunlight today for about 6 hours and the Power indicator is 100%. If you are mainly interested in lighting up the Campground this Gizmo is your best bet! I legit would buy this again or as a gift. Oh yeah and one thing I did not read in the product description but was a cool plus is that they throw in a bag with handles big enough for the Unit, the Panel and all the Lights! Good Product. Thanks. * Update... The unit itself turns into a camping flash light... It has a strong handle and when the 3 lights are not plugged into the unit and it's not connected to the charger... It's a really cool flashlight. Walking around the campsite with this Solar charger/ Flashlight is worth every penny... On the HIGH setting it lights up the world... on the LOW setting it lights up your path and beyond... and on what I call The Green Lantern setting (just turn the power to the unit on but leave the unit light off), the green glow lights up the area directly in front of you but can barely be seen by anyone not near your immediate area. Also more info on the 3 plug in lights... When you start the night with a full charge and leave all 3 lights on all night, about half way through the night, the lights dim down but they last until the sun comes up. And if you only leave 1 light on all night on a full charge, that one lights stays full power and is still going strong way after dawn. I'm happy that I got this and thinking of buying another one just because of "The Green Lantern" effect. It's a surprising and unexpected feature for the night hikes up the mountain and/or night walks on the beach. *Another update... I found that if I charge the unit from dawn til dusk (Summer time) all of the lights stay on full blast all night even when I'm charging a mobile device.

Another impulse buy. I bought it with the plan to replace the lights with heat syncs (fans) to use in my greenhouse, but by the time I got it, I forgot I even ordered it and wired in some different ventilation. No biggie, because I ended up using much bigger blowers and fans, which still didn't regulate the heat as well as I would have liked. A couple of heat sync fans wouldn't have done anything in there.I did end up using this at a birthday bash to light up a huge "Happy Birthday" display in the back yard and it did a great job being used as flood lights for that purpose. The battery lasted all night long, even later being used to light up the cornhole boards so the drunks could still play at 3am. I hadn't turned them back on since I put them away the next day and here, a month later, I checked to see if they would still light up and it seems like there is still a full charge on the battery.Overall, I would have given this 5 stars if it had more uses than a flashlight and phone charger and if it would have included some stands for the lights. I also wasn't pleased to see that the pictures they used on the sales page for this were manipulated to make it look much bigger than it really is (the dimensions might be right, but the pics make it look much bigger)- Picture a full roll of toilet paper with a handle on top- that's how big it is.I only gave it 3 stars for "value for money" because it's $50+ for something that has very limited application.

So, I own 2 of these units and use them for lighting the basement, etc. I have extended the length of the solar panel with no issue (still measures 4.8V at the device). However, about 9 months after purchasing the 2nd unit, it apparently DIED. While troubleshooting it, I discovered that the actual circuit board (which handles charge/discharge functions) was the issue, meaning the unit, by itself, was now useless. However, since I own 2 of them, I took it apart and wired BOTH battery packs together in parallel. The are 1S4P packs to begin with, so I turned it into a 1S8P pack (for 168Wh total), and did the same with the solar panels, creating a 5V, 36W max array. My big question though, is WHO or WHERE do I contact for this so called 5 year warranty? These are re-branded Blue Carbon brand devices, which are actually pretty good quality, but customer service appears to be non-existent.

I actually like this product. Although I had to figure out how to charge it, after that I use it every night. I have 2 and now I prefer to have 2 more for other rooms. They will literally light up an entire room when fully charged. I'm thinking that I would like for the battery to last longer, but it might just be me, because I tend to leave it on all night some times!! Lol! I would say it is WELL WORTH the money!! I put the solar panels in my window on the sunny side of my house. So I WILL purchase 2 more just to save on electricity. Yeah...this is a good purchase.
