This chair does NOT tilt back
They claim it does, and it -technically- does but practically you'll have bulging legs trying to manage the tilt. There's supposed to be a mechanism (a twist knob) which controls tilt tension, but it does not affect the extremely stiff tension at all. It's pretty shady advertising, which is why I rated so low.To be fair, the chair does recline, but all that means is the back of the chair angles back. It does not mean that the flat part of the chair that you sit on angles back WITH it (that would be tilt). I needed tilt, which is why I specifically looked for a chair that tilted.

Beautiful and well made chair, but............
Do not lean forward as to pick up a pen you dropped on the floor in front of you because the chair WILL go out backward from underneath your legs and butt. The chair is designed to lean back all the way and not fall over backwards. It accomplishes that by moving the center of gravity on the Tilt Control Mechanism. I purchased a new Chair Tilt Control Mechanism that is like all other desk/gaming chairs and it is better, but still goes out from under your butt when you lean forward. If u are going to lean back all the time then this is the chair for you. If you are going to be using it as a desk chair, get another chair. I kept it because of the build quality and fake leather quality which are wonderfully soft and strong.
