Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Oil Control Gel, 1.7 fl. oz.

I love DDF products and this glycolic gel. It's very similar to something my dermatologist used to sell under his own practice's label. I have combination skin that is oily in the t-zone by late morning, especially on warm days, and can dry in other areas.The gel should be used after you clean your skin. I use it for a few reasons - to help prevent breakouts, help peel off and get rid of any current breakouts (it accelerates the skin cell turnover on my face), and also to help fade any sun damage or freckling. It also is a great anti-aging product of fine lines. It's great to use year round but it is very, very important to wear sunscreen, even if you have overcast climate or days. The UVA/UVB rays can still come through the clouds. The glycolic in general will help slough off old skill cells faster, exposing new skin, which needs protection!I love products. It is my guilty pleasure in life. I go through different ones, trying which are best and I have had the DDF 10% Glycolic gel in my collection for years. I want to note that 10% is a higher amount of Glycolic, so you might want to try it on a smaller area the for the first time. It may make your skin pink, but that will fade. Don't put it on sunburned skin, etc. and don't use it right after a Glycolic or Salicylic Acid peel or use it with any other similar product at the same time except wash and toner, which will dry (DDF and other bands have these). I have found my skin to be more sensitive in the winter months. It was explained to my by one of my aesthatician friends that this is because the skin is thinner due to the cold. So, I am more conservative during that time. With that being said, they recommend healing during warm/sunny months and peeling during the more overcast/colder months to prevent further sun damage and exposure.DDF has a great sunscreen. I am not using it at this time. I use Elta MD 45 sunblock that is transparent daily because of the strength, lack of scent, it's a thinner lotion and soaks in my skin easy and leaves it glowing. Also, a little bit goes a long way and the cost is reasonable for the amount that I get. (Elta has one that is tinted too - I don't use that unless I go out to the beach or boating and will be without any makeup, but it can be used daily if you want to have a sunscreen that replaces base makeup.)This product has been good to me over the years. I am glad they are still making it. :)

In my case, this product did NOT control oil, did NOT have ANY effect on my pimples and did NOT prevent new pimples from forming, despite my using it twice a day for about two or three weeks (in the AM and just before bed). I used it after the DDF blemish foaming wash and, in the mornings, before DDF's SPF45 oil-free moisturizer. Obviously, this product worked for some people, because they rave about it here, but it did not work for me at all. I recommend trying a sample before you spend money on this. It's too expensive, in my opinion, for regular (non-wealthy) folks to buy it only to have to throw it away because it isn't doing anything besides taking up space.I'm a 33-year-old woman. My acne never completely went away, to my disappointment, but lately it was steadily getting worse. I tried several products--including a 2% salicylic acid formula from L'Oreal that came with a soft scrubbing pad and Burt's Bee's 1.5% salicylic acid acne wash and salicylic acid facial moisturizer. None of those things helped. Then I remembered using DDF before and thinking it had helped, so I decided to try it again. There was NO discernible change. In fact, I continued to get new pimples, including whiteheads and cysts. Finally, my mother bought me five items from The Body Shop's tea tree line, which incorporates tea tree oil, obviously. I have been using the tea tree products for about a week now and my skin is softer and getting clearer (cysts drying out). Plus, no new pimples have formed at all. All I can say is this: whenever possible, get samples. Don't believe the hype!

Tried this product for about a month and saw no significant changes in my skin. Too greasy in my opinion

I wanted to love this because there are so many reviews saying that this product was awesome. It has nice packaging and I like the cooling feel of the gel. I didn't really see any improvement with this longterm.. I wasn't really sure what it was supposed to do to my skin because my skin was still oily...I bought it last year, used it up for a few months and I forgot about it. I still have it on my desk. I probably one day will use it again to see if it'll work on my skin better...

Great Product! I am thus far very pleased with this product as well as most from DDF as they are finally the high grade over the counter product I've been looking for. Overall, a good value for what you pay considering that mediocre brands such as Body Shop aren't that much cheaper actually(at least not in Asia). I would recommend that you use this product daily for a few weeks and then abstain for a few days in order for it to remain effective. Otherwise, you will have to apply it three times a day after about a month or so, which is a bit much.

When i read the reviews online about this gel, i thought they were either paid actors or people that work for the company, but i bought it anyway. I figured since i bought everything else(pro-activ, neutrogena, clearasil, you name it i own it) why not get this. so it came in the mail, and i startd using it...i promise you...three days, you read right, 3 days after using in it, i couldnt help but notice the texture of my skin drastically improved! i couldnt belive it, i looked in the mirror and i simply couldnt believe it. no more new acne and the old ones were drying out. now i'm not only using this i'm using the toner from the same brand with it...simply amazing. i have had acne since i was 14 years...that first grotesque pimple on my nose. i thought it was the chicken pox but nope, it was the begining of the end of my clear skin...till now. now i have only been using this product a couple days so i'll keep you posted on the progress
