Great toy
The media could not be loaded. Not sure how long this will last for... but our 1 year old puppy loves it so far! I am a bit worried that he will destroy it in OFF mode, but when it’s turned on he loves chasing it and doesn’t focus on ripping the soft outside to shreds. Our dog is obsessed with toys, I have never met a dog who wants to play as much as he does... I work from home, but can’t play with him very much during business hours. This has been keeping him entertained for hours so far, the sound is getting a bit annoying, but he’s loving it so I’m happy!Pupdate: 9/25/2020 - about a week later he ripped/destroyed the plush cover. He still played with the plastic ball for 5 more months, but plastic eventually cracked off in a big piece so we had to throw it away finally. It continued barking/moving the whole time though so it’s surprisingly durable!

Cool toy. Lasted through tremendous abuse. Buying another.
Update. I have had the toy for a few years. It has absorbed much punnishment and finally broke. I am buying another. Love it.Original review below. What a cool idea. My dog quickly learned to shake it to make it come alive. All I have to say is "get the bulldog" and he goes after it. It gets a bit volitile for my dog to hang on to, but that is part of the fun....for me at least. Open the Velcro and remove the inner ball. Pull out the battery isolation tab to activate it. Like a previous reviewer, mine stopped working after few times, but the fix is easy. While you have it out, notice there is a small button on the ball. If that button gets pressed while playing, it shuts off. Push around until you find it and you won't have to take it back out of the bulldog lining.

Puppy loves it, people less so
Pros: My puppy is obsessed with this toy. It keeps her occupied throughout our dinner time. The cover has held up, but She is petite & easy on her toys.Cons: it is super noisy, because it is supposed to sound like a barking whimpering dog. The jiggling is enough, I wish there was a silent mode. Because of the noise it can’t be used while you watch tv. The battery compartment is extremely difficult to access. The screws are as small as eyeglass ones, but Phillips head. We had to find a specialty screwdriver from a hobby shop & nearly stripped them in the process.

Great idea but not so great design
Since my shepherd mix dog has been having a lot of fun with the Hyper Pet Doggie Tail, I thought I would buy a similar toy in a different design which would work the same way. While the doggie face is very cute on this toy and it does jump, roll and make the same noises like the other toy, there are a few flaws here which make it hard to operate this toy. First of all, there are no written directions for this toy, just a few pictures and it took me forever to figure out that you can't open the ball to get to the batteries by twisting it - it has 2 tiny screws which are hard to find and very hard to turn even with a tiny screwdriver. The battery case also has the same tiny screw. So it takes a lot of time to deal with all the screws in this toy. Second, this toy gets into motion and gets turned off by pressing of a button which slightly protrudes from the surface of the ball - this means that every time the dog rolls around the toy and the button gets pushed in the process, the toy stops working. So I have to pick it up, open the velcro cover, roll the ball to different sides trying to find the on/off button, push it and quickly put the cover back on - only for the process to repeat itself once the dog rolls the toy and hits the on/off button which turn it off. Obviously, once the toy stops moving and making sounds, the dog quickly loses interest in playing with it, unless the dog's owner does not mind going through the process of pushing the button every few seconds. So I would say, this toy is very frustrating for dog owners - probably even more than for dogs. I highly recommend the Hyper Pet Doggie Tail toy - the same price, the same motion/sound, but no issues with screws or with the on/off button which constantly needs to be pushed. My dog has been playing with the Hyper Pet toy for 4 months now on a daily basis, I have already changed batteries once, and the original cover with the tail is still intact - the design is much better and the material seems to be more durable. So I will be buying the Hyper Pet Doggie Toy which brings a lot of joy to dogs and their owners.

My girls LOVE this toy. Zeus is my 3rd dog LOL.
I purchased this toy for the little girl in the photo when she was just a baby. At first she was terrified by Zeus, but she quickly came to love him and now he is her favorite toy. Not long after getting Zeus we got the little girl in the photo a real little sister who, even though smaller at the time, immediately dominated Zeus. The girl in the photo then decided she didn't care for how rough her new sister was being with Zeus so she decided to start protecting him. Now she acts as though he is our 3rd puppy. She can't walk past him now without tapping him so he will vibrate and bark, and sometimes when he cries at the end she will too. She will tap him and then just sit there and stare at him while he does his thing and then tap him again when he is finished. It's so funny. When his batteries start to go dead she gets concerned about him so I pick him up and tell her he has to go to the vet. Her and her sister will sit there and wait very impatiently while I do surgery on Zeus to replace his batteries. They both are overjoyed when I give him back and he is fully operational again. I really need to purchase another one because if he ever stops working completely I think she will be heartbroken. He is however missing one ear I had to amputate it when she decided she was going to chew it off. Maybe she thought he was crying because of an ear ache lol.

Dog loves it
Our puppy loves this thing. Me, not so much. It’s loud and obnoxious, but funny. One thing that could be improved is the button that turns the thing off. I often have to take the ball out of the cover to turn it back on. I found that the trick is to position the side of the ball with the button under the most cushioned part of the cover, the snout. It is amazingly durable, as it gets thrown around, left outside and chewed. It still works. Great for playful dogs.

Best toy ever!!!
A have a very smart 6 month old Shepherd. If you have ever had a smart dog, it is impossible to keep them occupied for any amount of time. She plays with this non stop. After an hour, I finally have to take it away to make her take a break. It is so awesome because it does it's little noise and jumping around and then stops until it's moved again. So she is constantly moving it or pawing at it to get it to go again. I think that is what keeps her so entertained. I think if it was constant, she'd get bored. So worth it. And also because it moves so much it is pretty much impossible for them to wreck it. I give it an 11/10!

Impossible to open to replace / add batteries
This has arrived today, I assume the batteries are not included since it's come from the US and I'm based in the UK. It's impossible to open , the instructions on how to open it are extremely poor and minimal - feel like flinging the thing out the window! Update: I've discovered how to open it - the batteries arrived flat, though. My dog loves it and all is okay, I won't be throwing it out of the window afterall!

Batteries flat on arrival
My dog loved it, he been chewing and playing with it for over a hour now and doesn't seem to slow down hahah, just lost giving it a full star rating as the batteries were flat when arrived which is a pain as we thought it was dead on arrival other then that it's great, if you have a dog that destroys toys he might go through the soft outside quickly but can't complain for $22
