I thought I’d leave a review for an important product to own as a parent. This is a great product. I’ve used it quite a lot this week as my son has had chickenpox. It’s accurate, consistent, quick and easy to use. In a nutshell it’s great. Much prefer it to the ear thermometers.There are some negative 1 star reviews and i honestly can’t work out why. Some people seem to have tested it on hot water and other objects with various results. I wonder if vapours, steam etc made a reading impossible. Or possibly a faulty batch from the factory??? I found it very consistent and reliable.It was easy to use straight out the box with AAA batteries included. The device is simple and handy. The display lights up with colours if you’re forgetful, as I am as to what temperatures are high or dangerous, it lights up Green, Amber and Red. Red warning also comes with tones. I tested it on myself and my wife before our child, it was giving consistent results every time.I found it easier to use than the ear thermometers which depending on a what way it points on a wriggly child gives wildly different readings.The readings take just a second so it’s easy to get a good reading on an upset moving child. Can’t fault it.

I bought this for when my teenage son went back to school in the middle of the coronavirus crisis. It's a well made piece of equipment and comes with the required batteries. Fits nicely in your hand, is lightweight and easy to operate the trigger to give you either body temperature (middle of forehead) or surface temperature (any part of body or indeed any object!). No contact with skin is necessary, it can read temperature between 1cm and 5cm away, so it remains clean and you can quickly check the whole family, as many times a day as you like. We use it morning and evening and have got to know our personal fluctuations.I must admit I have not used the memo function, I've only changed it between body and surface temperature which is easy to do at the touch of the 'mode' button. I can't comment on the accuracy as have nothing to compare it to, but you will get a small fluctuation in the readings depending on various factors, like if you've been exercising, if it's hot or cold weather, or in my case if you're having a hot flush!!!It has really given us peace of mind in these troubling times and even my teenage son has been using it to test himself and the dogs! The traffic light system makes it very clear if you are safe and we've only had green readings so far. I managed to get it to go amber and red the other day by pointing it inside my mouth (had probably just had a hot drink!) so I know it works and you get a warning beep too when you go outside of the green readings.Overall very impressed with this and well worth the money in my opinion. I bought this as I need to take regular measurements.At the same time I bought another, laser guided one, same price, for baking.This one's display is not as good as the other oneThe numbers are grey on a lut background and smallish, whereas the other one has launched GE black numbers on the display ( bit that one is not suitable for taking body temperature, just mention it as it is exactly the same design, but the display is miles better)You can change from Farenhight to Centigrade ( Celcius)You point it at your forehead, aim between the eyes, or you can also take temperature at the temples, both places have blood vessels close to the surface so make for good areas to measure body temperature.Point, pull the trigger, it beeps and your reading is there...if you can see it.I would like to see the manufacturer improve the display, but for most people with good eyesight this will probably do, just annoying to know that it is possible to have the same device with much easier to read display.

PROS:Seems to be accurateEasy to useBatteries includedTwo modes - one for body temperature, one for surfaces, food etc.CONS:Modes are a tiny bit confusing at first, don't confuse 'Lo' warning with low battery warning!This is a good temperature checker, more hygienic to use than a normal thermometer too since you don't need to stick it anywhere, just point it and click. It comes with two modes, a 'body' scanning mode that will flash up the screen as yellow or red if body temperature is in raised or fever range, and a 'surface' mode for checking food temperature, etc, which is nice feature! Temperature readings seem consistent and accurate although I can't professionally test that!On the whole really easy to use, although it comes with a bunch of extra settings I haven't really needed or looked at yet. Worth mentioning something that confused me, when you use the gun for the first time it might show a warning saying 'Lo' - this doesn't mean the batteries are low, it shows this when you have it in 'body' scanning mode and point it at something too cold to be a human!On the whole a great product and a useful thing to have around at the moment, would recommend!
