I absolutely loved it. It was sensitive. It showed a realistic & believable life of the pain & beauty of geisha women from childhood up It showed the dedication, the sadness, the loss of love and the denial of a normal life that they had. It was a very beautiful film, heartwarming. I purchased it

This movie was so good! Not something I would typically watch, but I really enjoyed it.

If you have read the book, which is sooo good, you might be some what disappointed because it is not all that the book is here but if you are coming into this movie with that background, you will be in for a very different and enjoyable movie.

A movie that I have heard of, for many of my life. And never watch till today. Memoirs of a geisha is both a very tragic story and an amazing one as well. A woman recounts her life as Geisha during her younger years and how she fell in love with a handsome chairman. She faced many hardships and obstacles to reach her happy ending. A very beautifully filmed movie and one I won't forget.

Great movie

Il DVD è arrivato integro, avvolto nel suo cellofan e perfettamente funzionante.I contenuti speciali sono interessantissimi e utili anche per capire appieno le scelte stilistiche adottate per ogni personaggio in diverse scene del film (acconciatura, accessori per capelli, colori e fantasie dei kimono).Sfortunatamente il film non è un widescreen come mi aspettavo: in alto e in basso ci sono due bande marroni, ai lati due bande nere; nonostante questo però Amo questo film, e già solo gli occhi di Sayuri in copertina valgono i pochi euro spesi per averlo.Per godere della bellezza del film non consiglierei di guardarlo per la prima volta da questo DVD.Probabilmente acquisterò un bluray in futuro.
