Not completely useless (after modifying)
This is not a well thought out device. Looks good on paper but, when you come to use it, not so good in practice. Unfortunately, there was nothing else I could find that would assist in cutting 180mm skirting. This is pictured with protective strips on the working faces. Mine arrived without any. Reading other, recent reviews, this would appear to be the way they are supplied now. Without some form of protection on the working faces then this is definitely not 'reliable and long lasting'. I had some, left over, self adhesive vinyl tiles so decided to make my own protective strips. Even with the, home made, protective strips it was not easy to use. As other reviewers have stated, the heads of the clamping bolts got in the way. As the block only has one working face for each cut, the saw must be held firmly to the block to avoid the saw drifting off. If it does the sawn edge is uneven and does not make a good joint. I ended up having to sand the cut edges (while still clamped in the block). This actually worked and gave a good joint.

Not fit for purpose.
The concept is fine but very poorly executed. Wooden screws wouldn't tighten after the first couple of cuts, threads were poorly cut. The tongue for clamping in a workbench or vice are too flimsy and the whole thing wobbles with every stroke of the saw. No saw guides and when I enquired directly to the manufacturer they said the guides have been discontinued as they didn't work. With a bit more thought this could have been a good tool, for example attaching proper nuts to it and plastic clamping screws. A piece of aluminium channel with the nuts located in it and attached to the mdf would solve the clamping problem. I may do that to mine and see if I can salvage it.In its current form it's a waste of money and just frustrating to use.

Mine came with wooden screws - they are pretty much useless and are too big
Does the job, but I found it very hard to use. The plastic protective strips seem to wear out rapidly, even as I protected them with masking tape (as advised by some reviewers). May be it needs to be used with a specialised saw - it was not obvious from the instructions. Mine came with wooden screws - they are pretty much useless and are too big, as they interfere with the saw. Saying all that - it did the job and did it quite well. I only needed couple of cuts and the tool lasted long enough for me to finish all of them

A fine way to waste both time and money.
I never knew some people could get together and try to manufacture an item that desintegrate in use so easily.Quite remarkable, really.Saw guide came off at 1st sawing. Then the MDF construction lets you freely cut into the mitre rather than guide your cut.And the screw clamp stick out into the path of the saw. Really. The only satisfaction one could get out of this item is through NOT buying it.

Worst buy ever!!!!
Waste of money - I wish I had read the reviews before buying. The saw cut into the 'hardwearing guides'. Screws to hold boards in place got in the way of the saw, knocking it out of line. As it made it is made from low grade MDF it started to come apart and I had to fix it! I can't believe it says that there is a 5 year guarantee- it barely lasted 5 minutes! Utter rubbish. The principle is a good one, but needs to made from more robust materials. Did the manufacturer not try it out before producing it - or maybe this is just the prototype?! Very disappointed.
