Certainly helpful.
Learn Telugu in 30 days? Well not likely unless one already speaks a few of India's official languages. But this little book is certainly helpful. The Telugu script is in small print, but once one recognizes all the vowels, consonants and other markings it gets easier to spot what you are looking at without a magnifying glass. I am grateful to have this book. There is not much available, as you must have already surmised.

Most professional Malayalam book so far.
I'm comparing the "Learn Malayalam in 30 Days Through English" with the blue cover to "Learn Malayalam in a Month" with the purple cover with swirls and the "Learn Malayalam in 30 Days" with the green. red and black boxes.I rather liked this book. It comes with quite a many words and sentences to learn from, and while it does sort of demand that you already have the alphabet memorized for most of the book, it gives a handy "how to" pronounce the alphabet and many consonant combinations. There were less mistakes than the other two and the pages were quite clean considering. They each have their pirks. "In 30 days" with boxes, while the book fell apart in my hands, has many vocabulary words and comes with conjugations in the present, past and future tenses and a longer dictionary at the back."Learn Malayalam in a Month" with the purple swirls has the most complete vocabulary and consonant combinations combination of the three. Though I'm still not sure from all three how to say "I' and pluralize. Njan or nan (I?), gal (plural?) or something else.-My review

Need more than this booklet
Not what I had hoped for...never could I learn Telugu in 30 days with only this booklet. Consists of mostly phrases and sentences I probably would never use or say

This Book Is A Let Down
This book is not worth any money you spend on it. It may show you the Malayalam alphabet and may have the useful phrases, but it doesn't teach you HOW to say the words. You wouldn't know that "Kazhikkan" in "Vivaaham Kazhikkan poguna aal" ("Fiance". Yes. All those words for "Fiance".) is actually pronounced "Koly-can" and not "Kazi-kan". Or that words that have the letters "r" and "u" together create a hidden "d" with a roll of the tongue. If you read this book, you will look like a fool when you try and speak the language. This book is probably better in India, than America. Being a Germanic-Italian Male in America, I have not a clue about these words and pronunciations. My wife, who is Mallu (from Kerala, Malayalam speaker) says that this book is meant for people who already have a basic grasp of the sounds. Taking this book out of India and into America is like a saltwater fish in freshwater. It just wasn't meant for it. Malayalam is so remote that you really can't find much on it that is "superior" in terms of teaching through phonetics.Try websites. Try anything other than this book!

Neither language is adequately represented.
Regardless of whether the Mayalam portions are accurate or not, the English portions are preposterous. The book itself is badly printed, with portions of words only partially printed. The English text is obviously written and edited (?) by persons unfamiliar with English. The organization (?) is wholly unlike any language course I've seen, and is almost entirely useless. The pronunciation guide is worse than most, and almost useless. The depiction of the Mayalam script is generally so tiny as to make it difficult or impossible to distinguish the subtle distinctions in the text. In many places, there are Mayalam words or entire phrases without English translation or even roman text transliteration. In short, using this book, you will not "learn Malayalam" in 30 days or in 30 years. I'm deeply regretting ordering the book and waiting seven weeks for it to arrive (evidently by pack mule).

Not the best book to learn at all, small print and all in symbols
I didn't like it at all the print is super small and if you are not familiar with the language it won't be helpful, plus everything is written in symbols after a few pages with a very cheap print explaining how to read the symbols nothing else after that will be written in regular letters, so unless you can memorized all the symbols in less than thirty days you will be able to get the basics from this book, very disappointing i guess will try a different one.

Buy another book
I showed this book to my sister in law and she said there are so many mistakes that I might as well throw it away and buy a new book because she couldn't fix them all. I'm seriously not happy that I wasted my money on this book.
