Plastic tubes are made of very high-quality PVC plastic, characterized by high durability. They have large bubbles, which ensures slower evaporation of water during fermentation. They fit into the hole in the rubber stoppers for balloons. The material from which the tubes are made has all the authorization for contact with food. Just pour a small (2-3 cc) quantity of water or leftover sterilizing fluid into the chambers after setting up your fermenter. The fermentation tube filled with water is used in the fermentation process to protect the contents of the setpoint against oxygenation, and at the same time allows regular extraction of carbon dioxide generated during the process. Thanks to the moving water column, we can observe the changing intensity of the fermentation process from the turbulent stage (intensive bubbling) to stationary. It is natural for water to evaporate, so make sure you top up the water level in the tube. Failure to do so may result in too intense oxygenation of the fluid, and thus the oxidation of ethanol formed to acetic acid. Fruit flies that get into the dish can also cause this unfavorable process.
