Decent system, but Terrible customer service
This is like my 10th desktop. First thing I did, even before initially booting it up, was open it up, add more memory, add an internal hard drive, and add an NVidia graphics card. Did that, and then booted it up. It came up fine, used the new graphics card, and found the new memory and hard drive no problem. The system is fast and works fine. Had a minor problem looking for the hard drive data port, so called Lenovo. Forget that. They are in India or somewhere, and if it's not in their manual they are lost. Gave me completely wrong information. Fortunately, I got out my flashlight and found the data port on the drive cable, hidden away. Only been one day, but the system seems to be working fine. I have yet to begin adding all my old software and Itunes, etc., but, hopefully, will not be a problem. Seems to be a good system at a good price. Two days later: I have loaded much of my old software (and still have almost half the HD left), and even tweaked the BIOS. No problems. For a low end computer, this seems to be working well. Let's give it some real time. Plus: as mentioned previously...incredibly quiet

A So-So Machine for the Money
I bought this machine from Amazon. A few months later I started having all kinds of problems - hard drive related. The drive would pass the built-in diags but would die and not even boot into Windows. I reinstalled to OS, twice. It finally went into a CHKDSK loop for about 3 days all the while saying there was a problem with almost every sector. I put a Seagate Black in it and things have been good since. There was a WD Blue in it from the factory. I'm not advocating Seagate over WD, they both have their faults and neither are bullet-proof. I may have just gotten that one in a hundred bad drive. Aside from that, I'm not a big fan of the keyboard, it feels a bit cheap for a computer in this price range.

Extra steps needed for upgrade
WARNING: for anyone thinking of upgrading PSU on this pc. The motherboard connection for PSU is 14 pin, and no one makes a PSU with that conection. I had to buy an adapter on ebay from hong kong for $15, to hook up my PSU. This is a new thing lenovo is doing so no many retailers dont have adapters, perhaps in the future they will be easier to get. After doing this everything worked fine and I was able to add grapics card so its just a matter of wether you want to go through extra steps. On a side note for anyne who maybe interested. While waiting for adapter I used this pc, as is, to play Archeage for a week and with the settings on low I was able to play it just fine without issues.

Best Windows PC
This has been a great computer. I am not a computer geek, just a serious user. It has worked perfectly for me. The first thing I notced was that it is super quiet...really silent. I could not hear it at all. I wasn't even sure that it was on. I waited several months to review it to have a valid opinion. I am so glad that I was able to find a Windows 7 computer on Amazon af this high quality. I wanted nothing to do with a Windows 8 machine. I bought this after reading many reviews from from people who really know computers. It has all the storage I could ever need since I have programs that do backups that take lots of room. The speed is sufficient. I know that there are faster computers available, but it works for me. I use it for business daily and emailing personal and business. I do not play internet games, or use it for graphic design. I like the front buit-in card reader and USB ports. It has only one CD/DVD bay, but there is room for another.

IBM used to be good
Buyer Beware. This computer works and functions as described. However there is a flaw in the Lenovo Rescue System. The only Windows media you get is stored in the Lenovo Recovery Partition. Ok, as expected. So, I also got a Samsung ssd 840 evo 250.Used the data migration to clone the factory drive. The clone function is ok. But the recovery console is now disabled on the clone (ssd). I called Lenovo for support. WHAT a fiasco! These self proclaimed "Technicians" are nothing more than sales people by their own admission! After describing the problem in great detail, and correcting that information with each person on the support call (when the next guy comes on, he misunderstands what you told the previous person, so you have to explain it all again, ARRGGGH).They want to sell you a software warranty for 19.99 a month with a 10 month minimum, or yearly for 199.99. All I need is the trick to allow my ssd to function with the recovery partition. I think paying for this, plus having to do all their work, is an egregious offense to the end user. 200 more dollars and several wasted hours just to find out how to make the clone use the recovery console correctly. This is why I gave the score one star. The unit is brand new. The support people lie to you by saying they will connect you with a tech person, but only give you another sales man and no tech help whatsoever! you gotta buy it. All of this is hidden from the end user. these types of things should be on the front page of the product ad in bold. Oh Yeah, the other option was to buy the windows dvd from them. the whole purpose to cloning is that you don't need a dvd. starting from scratch means you have to lose all the existing data, and have to reinstall all your programs again. So, the Lenovo support teams final answer is, "buy more stuff from us, and create a bunch of downtime and extra work hours for the pleasure of buying a machine.

Almost 5 stars but overall a good computer
I've would have given this computer 5 stars but...This computer is great. The only issue I've had is the Intel HD Graphics 4600 when playing YouTube videos, the only way I've been able to play the video correctly is by disabling the hardware acceleration for AdobeFlash playback. The unit comes with a whole bunch of trial stuff.

Not ideal for upgrading
Pretty good tower if you don't plan on upgrading it much. Good processor, decent ram and HDD size, has built in wifi and runs quiet, but like most pre-builds it has integrated graphics. It's a major hassle to upgrade the PSU of this model; which comes with a 280w. Many dedicated graphics cards require a more capable PSU, and even when you get one, you'll also have to purchase a 24 to 14 pin adapter since Lenovo thought it a good idea to use a 14 pin motherboard. The MOBO in general is really limited and cheap.
