Had some trouble, but!
Well let's see! I had 6 cameras already installed running on the free motion detection alerts zmodo offers and we had an unexpected visit in the middle of the night. And the free motion alerts zmodo offers only gives you an alert every 15 minutes any given camera. So we didn't get the guy on camera. Luckily I ran the guy off. So we decided to get this and a couple more cameras. Well the nvr gets here it's small. I like that. I Hook it up and that's were my trouble begins. It didn't pick up any of my cameras. I fiddled for over an hour and gave up with only 2 cameras working. Couple hours later I start to get back into it and call customer service and low and behold I now have all 6 cameras working and recording 24-7 and noticed 3 were not given motion alerts. I was like now what. It was time for bed so I left it I had to get up early and head to work. The next day 1 of the 3 gives me an alert a little later another one that wasn't giving alerts sends one. I was like ok it's fixing its self. It's been about 4 days the last one still hasn't started giving motion alerts so I am going to have to call customer service first chance I get to fix this one camera. the nvr is working fine as far as I can tell. The 2 new cameras arrive plug them in go thru the set up process with no problems.

Careful
When I received it I heard something rattling around inside the NVR. I was nervous but hooked it up and a week later I went to see an activity that should have recorded and the NVR showed it was off. I was puzzled as I have it on its own outlet, sitting by itself on top of my entertainment center but it was off. I touched the NVR and it was super hot and not on. I unplugged it from the back of it and let it sit for an hour and plugged it back in. It worked. But, only for an hour then it turned off again. It was hot again. I this time put a small fan near it and directed the wind to it and unplugged it and plugged it back in after an hour. It worked again and also turned off an hour later again. I’m done. I tried contacted the seller and they responded three days later asking me the model number... wait what? I contacted you and you responded in the same body through Amazon that shows the model and item. I still entertained them and sent them the picture of the label on the back of the NVR. They responded telling me the manufacture has a warranty. I was like oh no! You sold it to me you need to replace it or refund. I decided to go back in Amazon and request a return. I shipped it back yesterday and will away refund. Very disappointed in every aspect of this transaction.

When it works, it works great.
I had high hopes for this because I was done paying for the cloud service. When this worked, it worked great because I would have the true continuous recording I was after. However, I would routinely lose a couple minutes of recording several times throughout the day and sometimes up to 3 hour blocks. My two cameras were well within range of the NVR, so I certainly didn't expect this to happen. Ended up returning and will instead go with a fully wired system from another company.

NVR runs well, but the APP really lousy
The NVR is quite reliable, and not causing connection and other issues, but the app is very simple, so simple that it even doesn't have a pause button when replay the video. I am wondering if the manufacturer still supports the app development.Zmodo cameras are very reliable, especially those outdoor versions. I have some of the in the yard without any shield for years and still running strong.

Amazing little NVR
Using this little NVR and some wifi magic, we've got 8 cameras scattered around the property. If you're looking to build a "wireless" solution that works and doesn't cost an arm or leg, go with this as a starting point. (8) cameras recording at least (2) weeks of history, and everything just keeps plugging along.

So far so good
I love the zmodo products. I have used them for years. Easier to install and easy to use. Just be sure that you use the 2.4 ghz on your wifi. You may have to login to your router to change this. Other than that it's a breeze.

Waste of money
Not working!!! Can't even pull up the day before. It operates the same as the app always lagging never doing anything. Someone hit my car while parked in my spot and I can't even pull up the video from 2 days ago.

Didn’t work with their own cameras
I liked the 8 channels but it wouldn’t work with their own cameras so I sent it back. Kinda useless.
