These Kirinland socks are the closest alternative I've found to my beloved Wigwam Volley socks, which alas, are now much too expensive. These Kirinland's are well made, wash well, and are plenty thick on the soles, and just-right thick on the ankles/calves. (Other brands I've tried, and returned, are way too thin on the ankles/calves to the point of being see-thru, which both look and feel weird to me.) The only caveat is that they are just a tad tight on the calves, but not enough to bother me.1-Year Update: These socks have held up very well...washing & drying once a week for about 14 months now. I just noticed a small hole in the bottom of one of the socks...pretty reasonable after 14 months of wear! The only downside I've experienced is that they are too warm for me to hike in warm weather (so I use thinner socks for warm-weather hiking).Update 8/5/2020 - Just received a new box of 10 pairs, as my 14-month-old socks will need to be replaced soon. Unfortunately, something about the socks has changed and I don't like how they feel now...a bit thinner and slightly itchy. Also, the "Kirinland" logo has been removed, but that doesn't matter to me. So, I'm removing a star and switching over to the Enerware brand socks, which are the same price (for a box of 10 pairs) but they have more (80%) cotton and they are super soft.

These are such great socks. I got on sale for 1/2 price. I am amazed at the quality. I would highly recommend these socks. They are advertised as a work/sport sock so they are very durable. My husband says they are very comfortable and keep his feet from sweating.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Sometimes you never know what you are going to get with online purchases but I would 100% buy these again. They are super soft and surprisingly cushioned.

I have stupidly huge feet (size 17) so finding socks that fit has always been a nightmare. Gave these ones a shot after not being able to find anything in stores and let me tell you… they changed my life. Yes. These socks changed my life. They slide onto your feet like butter, they’re thick and cushy, and the best part is they fit! I hope they never stop making them because they’re all I’ll wear from here on out.
