They are uncoated ceramic discs. The porous nature of ceramic allows it to absorb moisture easily.

The ones I got are stone like color. They havent faded. They absorb moisture. I really am pleased with them. +

"Made from Ceramic and Lead a Classy Touch" I think they meant to say lend a classy touch, not to infer that there was lead in the coasters.
