Nelson-Rigg Route 1 Rover Pet Carrier: Weather Resistant, Portable, and Secure Motorcycle pet Carrier/Crate; Fits Harley Davidson, Indian, Yamaha & Suzuki Motorcycles

I purchased this bag for day trips with my Shih Tzu. She weighs about 19 lbs. and has a ton of room to fit in and even lay down in this bag. I have a Nelson Rigg day bag for my other motorcycle that has logged over 60,000 miles and is over 15 years old that still looks like new. I was hoping this bag would be built to the same quality standards and thankfully, it is! The bag has some very nice features. There is a tether attached to the inside bottom of the bag to clip your dog’s harness to that limits your pups ability to jump out of the bag. There are 4 straps (one at each bottom corner) and 2 sissy bar Velcro straps to attach the bag to your bike. This bag is tall! With pockets for pet accessories. There’s a lot of mesh area around the bag that at first I didn’t think was necessary. I was wrong! If you check the photos I snapped a picture of my dog in the bag with the side mesh open while we were at a restaurant . This is a great feature for the fact that we took her into a restaurant and sat the bag ,with her in it, on a chair and hardly anyone noticed her. She was cool, comfortable, and could see us so she didn’t experience anxiety being in the bag. When we left we let her pop her head out of the opening in the top of the bag. Folks thought that was pretty cool. On the bike our furball seemed to enjoy herself. My wife put a decent sized fluffed pillow in the bottom of the bag. This elevated my dog up to make it easier for her to stick her head out the top of the bag and see but also made her a lot more comfortable. This bag is tall for a small dog and I like that due to being able to provide her something soft to sit or lay on while traveling. You can see in the pictures our pup had her front paws out of the bag with her face in the breeze getting her “wind therapy”. She loved the experience and I’m glad this bag was a part of it. She’ll be going on a lot of trips now.

I had a dog carrier that fit on passenger seat while our daschund was younger however she outgrew that one. After much research, I found this carrier to be our choice. The carrier arrived in good shipping order and once opened, the daschund had to to do full inspection. Once her blanket was placed inside, she was 1 happy dog. The straps feel sturdy and secure. I already have spare clasps I carry just in case. I have taken the dog on several smaller trips to this point with no issue. Lone Star Rally is a 6hr ride end of Oct/Nov and she did well last year. I do recommend letting dog get comfortable with the carrier in the house prior to using. Treats usually work well too. We use a larger ice pack in the bottom on warmer days in Texas n a heating pad in the winter.

Well built, easy to mount and secure with the adjustable straps provided. Loads of ventilation when needed. Storage pockets. Water resistant zippers.

My little guy Gus loves going on motorcycle rides in his new carrier. Straps secure easily to the bike. Love the inside lease. Sturdy and safe for my little Chihuahua

Like most Nelson-Rigg products, this is a very sturdy and well-made bag. For a pet that fits the confines of its interior, it will be just fine, but also take into account the place you plan on mounting it to. My bike has a large, flat passenger area with hand-holds, but there is no trunk or backrest. The bag mounted securely with no issue but when I sit on the bike, the rear seat ends up with a slight forward angle to it, also tilting the bag slightly. I put my toy poodle (12lbs) inside and the bag tilted forward even more, causing the dog to lose his balance a few times…. Yeah, this isn’t going to work, so I have returned it and plan on trying out something else. Great bag, just take your seat/bike angle into consideration as well.

It fastens easily and securely to the luggage rack, it has lots of vents, that we can zip up or leave open, and looks great, and my 2 mini dachshunds fit comfortably in the bag.

This motorcycle pet carrier exceeded my expectations! Not only is it incredibly roomy and sturdy, it also has several options for ventilation, it allows you to have it attached to the motorcycle from several different attachment points, it is easy to put on and off the bike, it has an added safety measure on the inside of the carrier that allowed you to attach your fuzzy love to the carrier, and the zippers all are able to be “locked” so while riding they do not come apart! My baby boy LOVES his carrier and is happy to be a motor dog now too!! Excellent buy for the money! Made out of strong made to last material! Quick delivery!My boy is a 17 pound Cavalier Spaniel

Well thought out, quality,safety size

My pup loves this carrier. He is 15lbs and has lots of room to move around inside. It attaches securely to my bike and doesn’t move. We have ridden 1000’s of km together with it and I’d highly recommend it.
