Nice hay

Well i must say i do really like this hay, my husband suggested i try save some money on buying hay as my rabbit hobby was getting way to expensive with branded hay. I was sceptical as i didn't want my rabbit eating something that may harm him. I always had this thought that the branded and plastic packaging stuff was some how likely to have been through some rigorous health and safety checks that would assure me that my rabbit was getting the best but after buying this and being pleasantly surprised by the lovely quality of the hay, i am happy to budge on that opinion for the time being ;).Some others have complained about it turning up in a cardboard box but i think, that is so much better environmental wise than receiving it in a big bag, so i was very impressed by that.I also found the hay a little dusty as others have stated but i am happy to shake off some dust in order to save myself some money. please note: this dust is a sort of muddy dusty not 'small hay fragments' sort of dusty like the branded stuff.Although the price has gone up slightly since i have bought it a month ago (roughly £1), i would buy it again and recommend it.Note to seller ;) - if the price goes up to much more though i will search for it cheaper else where :), in the mean time my little bunnies an I thank you for a great product.I have been using this hay now for a month and purchased a half bale, i am about 1/3 through it, so still have plenty left and i have been giving generously to my adult buck along with a handful to my doe at every litter change (twice a week) and a small hand full every other day to top her crazy priced alfalfa hay she requires as shes only a baby at the moment.

My first order of this item was pretty good, long thick strands of hay so of course when I ran out I immediately thought to order this item again. Upon receiving the item I noticed the hay was much thinner, although a lovely green and smelt very sweet, it was very different to what I first received. This concerned me a little but not too much, each harvest after all can be different. When I went to change my guinea pigs hay however, something sharp starting prodding and poking me, to which I found thorns embedded in my fingers. In the picture is what I found and I am so lucky I found this as this could of harmed my piggies which could of lead to injuries and vet bills.I fully appreciate that this could happen but now I will be extra cautious in sifting through the hay which is no problem on my end, but I do want to caution you just in case you find this as well.The three stars is due to drop in quality as well as finding dangerous bramble. Value wise, it is very good and does last a long time, just be careful!

This is my first non pet store hay purchase, and whilst some say it's not the best quality, I cant believe the difference! Great long stems, guinea pigs LOVE it! Everyone said piggies burrow and dig and play in hay, but mine never did because it was really short, dusty and a really rubbish! But this! They play in it, bury themselves in it, sleep in it, eat it at speeds I've never seen before, they absolutely love it! It came in a well sealed box, no string, no plastic, it's so easy, I keep the box at the end of the run and just keep filling the piggy kitchens everyday! Brilliant! Would buy again!!

Guinea pigs love it

Arrived on time in a bigger box than I expected. It's super handy having it in a box rather than a bag and makes things far less messy. The strands of hay are longer and finer than other shop-bought hay, and there is absolutely no dust. Out of all brands and sources that I have used before, this has been the best received by the bunnies and there is so much less wasted. I have 2 rabbits and in 2 weeks I'm less than half way through a box. Fantastic, highly recommended!

I was thrilled when I received this hay. It came iin a large cube shaped cardboard box, so minimal packing. It is lovely stuff - fragrant and springy. It reminds me of summer days from my boyhood. I bought it as beddiing for two new hedgehog houses that I built and one was soon occupied. I have lots left, have shared some wth friends and, hopefully, some will be used as nesting material by birds in the Spring.
