I purchased this CD for my mother's birthday. I remember my Daddy and my Mother listening to this album when I was young. My mother said the other day she wished she could listen to that music again. So, I looked it up on Amazon.com and found this Best of Billy Vaughn!!! I was so happy that I found what she wanted!! THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME MAKE MY 80 YR OLD MOTHER HAPPY!! Every morning when I get up, she's playing her CD in the kitchen and cleaning or cooking happily!!

BUT...Someone in Quality Control over the Jewel Case Section "WAS ASLEEP" in the "Center" where Disc's 2 & 3 are placed, they Didn't Remove the Plastic Injection "nubs", that "Gouged both Disc's. So rather than Sending the Music back to Amazon, I "Fixed" it Myself. Several Years I'd purchased an "eCare/Procare" This Unit has saved me lots of Heartaches & Headaches, I've got to of the & mine "Work Wonderfully" on CD's/DVD's, I've used mine 1000's of times & I'd "Fight You" over it. Very Economical, Simple Instructions, Easy to Use. Now ALL CD's are in Perfect Condition, as they should be. NUFF SAID!!!!!!!!!

I have many of these greatest hits on lps and waited impatiently for a CD release. Because Billy Vaughn had big hits in Latin America, South America, Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Germany and the US among other countries, it is definitely a feat to include just 50 of his most popular on a 2 CD collection. This collection was originally aimed at the German market. Yes, there are some HITS missing including US and German hits but those are available on other CD collections. Some of the tracks are in mono but that is because they either were not recorded in stereo (Sail Along Silvry Moon, Melody of Love, Raunchy, etc.) or a stereo master is not available. The greatest thing about his collection is that many of the cuts were previously available only on 45 rpm singles.This is the best introduction to the most successful studio orchestra of the rock n roll era.

This is absolutely one of the finest sets that I have ever listened to. This is music that I listened to when I was a youngster. Really began with this type of music in the late 1940's. Billy Vaughn's arrangements are fantastic. Simply great, not much more that I can say. Love it. Also, great service.

Finally !I Had Purchased A Billy Vaughn CD Recently And After Playing The First Track, I Knew It Was Not The Original Recordings.( They Had Been Re-Recorded In Nashville When Billy Was Nearly A Fossil )It Was My Entirely Fault For Not Checking Out The " Credits " In The First Place.Happy With This One. ORIGINAL RECORDINGS FROM DOT RECORDS Where Billy Had A Long-Term Association.( He Had Been With DOT From The Early Days As A Member Of The Hilltoppers, Then Acted As Chief Of A&R For The Label Under Randy Wood )In Addition, He Was One Of The Major-Selling Artists For DOT With His Huge Instrumental Hits.( DOT Had Other Major Instrumental Hits As By Steve Allen And Lawrence Welk, Both Had Been With CORAL )Let's Not Forget To Mention That DOT Records Was Probably The Most Important Label That Leased Tons Of Masters From Other Smaller Imprints ( Or Purchased Them Outright ) And Had Several Massive Instrumental Hits:" Hot Pastrami " By The Dartells ( Leased From Buddy Jacks's ARLEN Label. )" Pipeline " As By The Chantays And " Boss " As By The Rumblers ( Both From The Wenzell's DOWNEY Imprint. )" Wipe Out " As By The Surfaris Came To DOT After First Released On The DFS And PRINCESS Labels.It Is Highly Unlikely That Mister Vaughn Played Any Part In Acquiring Any Of These Masters ( 1962-1963 )But By 1967, He Was Still With DOT, His LPs Were Still Selling Well, He Still Went To The Office 5 Days A Week, And He Was Still Recorrding And Producing Records** That Year, His Son Was Attending High School And Hanging Out In Tarzana And Was In No-Way A Fan Of His Dad's Music, Nor Was He Interested. If you are a fan of Billy Vaughn and like sax, it will not disappoint you. Smooth easy to listen to music. It's a 2CD package at a not cheap price as CD's go, but it's worth for the 1st CD. This is the real one and worth the price on its own. The second CD of the set is a disappointment to me, so I can't rate it 5 stars. But the 1st CD is classic Billy Vaughn and worth all. Swing to it, it's happy music, smooth and relaxing.

Das Orchester von Billy Vaughn hat mich echt umgehauen, schon der Anfang der ersten CD ist ein Feuerwerk: "A swinging Safari" in einer süchtig machenden Version, "Wheels" nie besser gehört, dann "Sail along silvery moon" traumhaft schön. Alles so wunderbar gespielt in einer sensationellen Qualität. Saxophon-Freunde: bitte mal in "Tennesee waltz" (Disc 2) reinhören, das Solo ist nur schön. Also, es lohnt sich!

Wer kennt nicht die Melodien von "Sail along, silv'ry moon" und "Wheels"? Nie gehört? Bestimmt doch! Dahinter steckt Billy Vaughn einer der weltweit erfolgreichsten Orchesterleiter. "Sail along, silv'ry moon" war sein erster Hit in Deutschland mit dem er es sofort bis auf Platz 1 schaffte.Aber auch mit "Wheels" war er im Jahre 1961 wochenlang auf der Spitzenposition unserer Charts.Das ist aber längst nicht alles was das Orchester Billy Vaughns zu bieten hat. Viele perfekt arrangierte Coverversionen bekannter Hits wie zum Beispiel"A swinging Safari" , "Morgen" , "Blue Hawaii" und "Aloha -Oe" sind auf dieser Doppel Cd Best of zu finden.Klasse ist das schnellere Stück "Orange blossom special" und "Mackie Messer" aus der Dreigroschenoper. Auch "Midnight in Moscow" von Billy Vaughns Orchester im Original von Kenny Ball (noch besser!) klingt sehr gut.Mir hat diese Best Of Cd von Billy Vaughns am allerbesten gefallen und kann diese jedem Interessiertem weiterempfehlen. 50 Titel die unter der Leitung von Billy Vaughn perfekt eingespielt wurden. Zum Tanzen oder Zurücklehnen und genießen. Viel Spaß dabei!

Mein Gatte und ich waren schon immer Anhänger von B. Vaughn, daher war diese CD ein MUSS und wurden auchnicht enttäuscht!Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, Lieferzeit: alles im grünen Bereich!

das beste vom orchester billy vaughn ! wohl richtig ! 50 titel in göttlicher qualität!auch was ihn betrifft,wurdeich über die sammlung meines vaters geprägt.das orchester max greger zb.,bediente sich erfolgreich,auch einigeradaptionen billy vaughn's.heute tun dies,ua.,captain cook und seine mannen.aber nichts geht über das original!!!10 seitiges booklet,liegt der cd bei.als resume " THE FINEST IN EASY LISTENING " !! beste unterhaltung !!
