Nice!
I have used this several times. It’s nice and sturdy. I bought the Boos creams and have been oiling it religiously. It will be here long after I’m gone.

Perfect in every way
I love Boos Blocks and this one is exceptional. The flat side is big enough to chop onions and garlic on the same board. The reverse (grooved) side is perfect for juicier fruits & veggies. It is light enough to easily move to a skillet. The wood is much kinder to knives as compared to plastic. Big note - you will need to pre-oil the cutting board before its first use. I have always used the Boos Block "Mystery Oil" and cream. It keeps everything hydrated which helps repel bacteria from the wood.

Wood split
We have had this board for 15 months, and the board is already splitting and meat juice leaks on the counter. We only use the board about once a month, so it was not overused. I bought the Boos oil too, and it still split. For the price of this, I would have expected much higher quality. Very disappointed.

Ample juice groove holds 3/4 cup
So far so good. Plenty of groove capacity for our pork shoulder tonight!

Bone dry on arrival
I chose this board because I needed a deep juice groove and a smaller size, but this brand would not have been my first choice otherwise. I read that the mfg applies oil pre shipment, but it must have been only a spritz. I've seasoned the board daily for over a week and it still thirsts for more (won't use it until it's ready). If I were to gift a board it would be a brand that arrives in pristine, ready-to-use condition that is also less likely to warp/split. Making someone do all this work pre use is not my ideal of a gift.

Almost too beautiful to use!
Bought this to replace a plastic cutting board that became impossible to clean once the scratches got deep. It is extremely sturdy -- perhaps too thick for the size. Treated with Walrus cutting board oil and wax, making it even more beautiful. So far it has only been used a few times -- it is fairly heavy for its size and it seems like a crime to get it dirty and cut on it. Once it is broken in I expect it to be our favorite and to last for a very long time.

Beautiful
My boyfriend is a fantastic cook, and already has a BooS Block cutting board, but it is a lot smaller, and doesn’t have a liquid reservoir. He’s gonna LOVE this cutting board.Me? I think it’s nice enough to leave out on the counter. It’s very heavy though, for me at least.

Not good
Even after taking care of it, the cutting board started splitting and deforming. Hand washed every time I used it and applied oil often and yet it's still not in good condition. Not worth the price, and the amount of hassle to maintain the cutting board just to have it break on you is upsetting. I

John Boos are the best. This is my second block.
This is a perfect size for regular use.My first one was a massive restaurant size block but is too large for regular use. I love it but don’t need that size for normal Sunday lunch. The quality is superb and it looks great on my worktop. Highly recommended.

Solid cutting board but needs a lot of maintenance early on. Surface finish could be better
Very thick and heavy cutting board. The hole is a bit annoying and the surfacing isn't perfect but the price was right. Be aware than this thing soaks up a ton of oil, I used about 300ml of mineral oil in the first couple weeks and quite a bit of board cream afterwards. I can see why people have cracking issues as I had to treat it daily for the first month or so. Now I only have to condition it about once a week and the time between conditionings should increase as time goes on.
