Kitty Holster Cat Harness, Small/Medium, Denim Blue

I had purchased a few harness’s for my cat. He hated all of them. Always had a struggle to get them on and when it was on he’d flop to the floor and wouldn’t move. Very unhappy kitty.This harness was a different story. He let me put it on, it looks more comfortable for him. And as soon as I get it out he runs over excited and ready to go for a walk.It’s a secure harness and it doesn’t pull round his throat.We are both really happy with the purchase

My half-grown Maine Coon got used to this very quickly. If I hold it up, she comes trotting and chirruping, and lies down while I attach it. She's happy enough pootling around the garden with me attached to the other end of the lead. But... she's twice managed to liquefy herself and escape - both times when I'd temporarily tethered her and she'd been at the end of her lead range. And her very long fur tends to get caught in the velcro when I take it off.

We managed to get our cat in the holster in under 5 minutes, which was a huge victory (she hated having her last harness pulled over her head). We tightened it as much as possible for the trial run. I think the design could benefit from a bit of padding between the metal fastening and the cats back though as the material is very thin.Unfortunately, she got out of the holster by the end of our first outing too. :-( If the cat is pulling in front, the holster is very secure. When it came off, the velcro was still very firmly in place - the whole thing just came off over her head. The instructions warn against pulling when you are in front of the cat, so I had tried to stay behind throughout our outing. When you are walking a cat who is used to going in any direction she wants for the first time (or to be honest, for our cat, I would imagine at least the first 20 times) it's very difficult to stop her from manoeuvring herself behind you though! After about half an hour of near missed, our cat eventually decided to do what most cats do when they are outside - she ran over to a vehicle and sat underneath it. After 20 minutes of trying to coax her out with no success (her favourite indoor treats were completely ignored when we were outside :( ) she eventually ended up pulling backwards and it was off in seconds.It is a great idea and shipping was extremely fast, but for the price we were really hoping that this would be the harness we could stick with. We have now just ordered the Ferplast harness for £7 on amazon and are hoping we may have more success with this.

This harness is attempt #5 to find a harness for my cat, so we can go for walks together. He also wears them in the garden, to get him used to wearing it in a known and safe environment. He wants to be a man about town, but after I adopted him I found he had a metal plate in his leg and a fear of strangers, so flying solo, including getting out of the back garden, is not going to happen. So, in an attempt to give him some small adventures, we have tried every harness recommended, including the famous Rabbit Goo harness, and he has escaped from EVERY single one of them. All he needs is tension on the lead, and he will turn around and drag himself backwards out of the harness. Works every time - BUT NOT WITH THIS ONE! He tried it with this one and it didn't even come close to working! So now we are able to go walkies outside and I know if he gets spooked he won't escape from the harness in a panic and get lost - or run over.. It is easy to put on and take off as well. He hated the rabbit goo one as it goes on and off over his head. This one is just velcro wraps around neck and midsection. Nothing over his head - and it is soft and comfy on him. No drama at all. Well, he still thinks he is too cool to wear a harness, but also knows it is the price of adventure.. I am really pleased with it because he is so keen to go out - and now we CAN go and I am reassured that I can keep him safe at the same time.. Perfect.

This harness is fantastic. Comfy and secure. This purchase was actually for a second one, so I could use one as scrap to expand the waistband of another. The XL still isn’t large enough for a Maine Coon. But since he likes this harness so much, it was worth the customizing! And now it’s purrfect. Shipping was fast, the price was comparable to the other retailer we bought the first one from, and we appreciate this seller! Thank you.

Excellent harness. We have two young cats and neither of them can get out of this harness. They both got out of other ones. Solid construction and the velcro is super strong. We've had to pull them down from trees and the harness is secure enough and doesn't choke them that we could haul them down by the harness. Well worth the expense.

Hard to find XL sizing so no complaints as it does the job. I expected the quality would be better based on the pricing but it’s just okay. The material is thinner than expected and it’s something you can probably sew in your free time if you’re able to. Still in the midst of harness training so maybe I’ll update later on when I’m actively using it.Edit: used it during a recent vet visit and it was so much easier when it came to giving my cat their yearly vaccines. 10/10

This is the third 'escape proof' harness that I've purchased and the first one that actually works.Comfortable, washable, and easy to put on.Cat was a bit miffed at the velcro but he got used to it quickly and now doesn't fight when its being put on.He still won't heel but at least we both get out for a bit of a walk.

Our cat loves his walks. When we ask our cat if he wants to put on his 'jacket' and outside, he goes to the holster and waits for us to put it on him. When we were training he escaped a couple of times because something frightened him, but as the instructions say, standing to the side instead of the front makes wriggling out of the holster much harder. Getting the right size is important, too. We started with a L but not all of the Velcro was making contact. We moved to an XL and the fit is comfortable and secure.Some reviews mention how loud the Velcro closures are, but they are large pieces so yes, they will be loud. Our cat adjusted quickly and it doesn't bother him now. The Velcro can be pulled apart carefully and that helps reduce the noise until the cat gets used to it.This product is well made and I don't anticipate ever needing to replace it, but if I ever have another cat needs to be walked, I will absolutely buy it one of these holster cat harnesses.
