Much better alternative than paper
They hold up great. Definitely more narrow than a regular plastic straw but works just as fine. A much better alternative to paper straws, these do not get soggy and will only break if you bite in to them. My 12 year old got used to them right away. Will buy them again.

Not recommend, very thin and easy to break
Good price for a large amount but I would not recommend it as it is very thin and easy to break off. The last time I bought the grass straws from another seller, they are very thick and strong.

Good but thin
I was surprised at how well these hold up. The diameter is very small and thickness is very thin (similar to a drink stirer). These are best for adults because they bend easily. But they hold up to hot and cold beverages for the “life” of the drink (even several cold ones).

I Don't Think These Are Stupid Anymore
Besides the topic of how unfair the new "straw and bag" laws are now, the problem is- who the heck wants to use those stupid paper straws that fall apart before you finish your drink? I decided to try these out just to see. I am so glad I did.WHAT ARE THESE LIKE?This comes in a big box of straws. They are clearly wheat stalks. There is no flavor or odor with these straws. They are the size of thinner straws - like the ones the bend.WHAT ARE THESE BEST USED FOR?These are great for anything liquidy like water, juice, pop, soda, etc. It is not quite as easy to use them for smoothies if they are thick.DO THESE BEND AND FALL APART BEFORE YOU FINISH YOUR DRINK?I have tested these by leaving them in a drink for a few hours before finishing. The great news is that these kept their shape and were entirely usable until I was done with the drink. That is in stark contrast to the paper straws everyone is offering around my area that bend and fall apart before you can finish your drink. I hate them. These, I like.THE BOTTOM LINEThese straws are the next best thing to plastic. These flavorless straws work well on anything not TOO thick, last for a long time, and do not start to fall apart before you finish your drink.MY RATINGFIVE STARS for these. I would buy them again. I like them a lot and am so glad to have an alternative to awful paper straws that are popping up everywhere.

They crack and split almost immediately after coming in contact with liquid.
Don’t bother, these are worthless and don’t hold up.

I hope these wheat straws take over the beverage industry & solve the plastic straw problem
Biodegradable Wheat Straws are a fantastic idea, with perfect timing. We need get to rid of plastic straws, and many cities have already began banning them, because they are harmful to the environment. They never decompose completely. They only break into smaller pieces and become part of our water and soil systems. Bad, very bad. Bans are happening, city by city, but slowly and actually, too late.Looking for an alternative straw is the only solution, besides giving up straws altogether. Personally, I can live without them for most beverages, but what about smoothies, or shakes on the run, or while driving? You can't drink a smoothie in the car, without a straw. So our current alternatives to plastic straws are paper (don't hold up at all and feel funny), glass (hard to clean, and are breakable), and metals (hard to clean, bad taste). Never mind the huge hassle of having to carry your own straw around.Biodegradable wheat straws to the rescue! These long and thin straws are pretty perfect alternatives to plastic straws. No taste, and they hold up quite well for as long as it takes most people to drink a beverage. It actually feels like plastic, to a degree,These wheat straws are one time use, as they are plant based, yet they are gluten free (well, you don't eat them) and suitable for everyone.I'm not sure if these come in larger widths for smoothies, but use of this product for the masses would sure solve the problem of plastic straw overuse. I know I would gladly pay more for a beverage in a restaurant, if they offered a plastic straw alternative. In the meantime, I will carry my own wheat straw!

If you plan on drinking out of these, don’t bother.
Terrible as drinking straws...awesome as biodegradable poking sticks...

Not a bad substitute if you're willing to compromise.
I found these straws very usable especially since I go into a lot of these sustainable items with the assumption that I am going to have to compromise a little durability for it to be better in the long run. I think that is what we have lost in all of these years of plastic convenience. I was able to drink my beverage and feel good about throwing them out. Fully biodegradable! I'll sacrifice a little convenience for that peace of mind. My straws might not be that big of a deal, but at least I feel a little bit better about what I did while I was here. =) Hopefully things like this can catch on and we can stop using so much plastic, ESPECIALLY with our food and drink!Hope this helps!
