Supergame (Third Edition): Super-Powered Roleplaying (Supergame: Super-Powered Roleplaying)

Nice pickup and play system
Character creation is simplified and quick, with examples throughout and are useful as bad guys for the GM to start with, I made 6 villains in minutes after reading the system and a few heroes to use.

Cheesy.
The depictions were cartoonish, and the system too simplistic.

An Easy, Enjoyable and Affordable Superhero RPG
Great superhero roleplaying game at at a super-affordable price. I found this to be a clearly written, well-thought out game and game engine, with a lot of easy-to implement options. I've played superhero rpgs since about 1982, starting with early Champions, and have collected and read most of the superhero RPGs published since, I'm a fan of many of them, and Supergame Third Edition is really at a top of my list. Precis Intermedia really took an old game and reworked and polished it into a gem of an rpg.Making Characters is easy, and as advertised on the tin, they fit on an index card. The systems and subsystems fit together well and model the genre nicely; I was able to understand the whole thing in a single reading. The book is cleanly laid out in black and white, with some nice line art, and comes in at a tight 102 pages. A gem, and recommended.

Good start but needs some work.
I'm just skimmed the book so far. But it seems like a serviceable RPG. The main drawback seems to be the attempt to leave it open for the DM and the player to decide. I don't know if it's because I'm more familiar with DND but it seems to need the class system from that RPG. Like with the ranger you have certain abilities and then you can pick a certain number of spells. This has a complicated points purchasing system. I think this system comes from them attempting to make the game more accessible. But for me at least it seems to make it a little more difficult. I'm finally about the time I think I understand the system I read a little more and become confused again. I think it misses its Market for RPG players by not using a D20 system. Where it does beat other systems like D&D is in its price point. Which I hope brings it an audience. Because it needs some of the online resources that you can find with D&D so that you can better understand this game. While I think I'm probably going to modify D&D if I'm going to run a superhero campaign in the future this certainly is a good starting RPG if you've never played one before.
