The book is organized very well, clearly dividing mushrooms into easy to follow categories. Also, appreciate the edible / poisonous classifications. This book is my go to field guide when foraging in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

My husband has gotten in to mushroom hunting and this has gotten a lot of use! It has been so helpful in identifying what he has found. And we found some chicken of the woods and it was delicious. Thanks to this book we knew what to find and how to eat! So great. I would recommend

This is a great field guide for a beginner, and it truly is field guide sized (unlike most field guides). This book is easy to fit into a small bag and carry with you.More experienced hunters may find this book a bit too simplified, but beginners will probably appreciate the info is laid out by type (ie "atypical caps" instead of "stink horns", "spherical" instead of puffball). As someone who's used a more comprehensive guide in the past I appreciate this will be more handy and weildly in the field but I'll probably get a more comprehensive regional guide for at home, one with the mushrooms grouped by taxonomy (ie "amanita") rather than appearance.This guide has NO psychoactive species, "psilocybe" in the index simply directs you to a page on "little brown mushrooms" and gymnopilus is entirely omitted.

Nice small size reference guide you can take along as you forage. GREAT color pictures and lots of useful information to help identify safe or dangerous mushrooms.

Great field reference book. It is on the small size but perfect for carrying with you. If the print is too small, pull out you phone use the camera and blow it up on your screen. I'm almost 60 and find the print easy to read personally. This guide is well laid out with quick reference to bad look a likes. I don't go out mushroom hunting without it. Helps ID anything your unsure of even if your not intending to pick it. Highly recommend this guide.

This book is magnificent! I LOVE it for identification. The shipping took 1.5 months to get to me.

the book is very interesting i just didn't think it was going to be such a small book. I wish it was bigger.

The pictures and write up in this book looks good. However the printing font is very fine, smallish and gray. My senior eyes cannot read it easily and I do not want to go mushroom picking with a book and a magnifying glass. I think I have to return it. Would blame this on the publishing company.
