I’m not sure if there is a cutting issue however mine did not fit, I noticed the inside and edge was missing a few grooves that wouldn’t let it shut.I guess my review is, just purchase this item from Canon for a sure fit.

It didn't fit and was to big after I tried to make it fit. I have no idea where I tossed it. I will have to purchase in person from an expert who knows what will work.
