Reliable
I live in NYC and when the weatherman calls for rain, you never know when it's going to come, so one must carry ones' umbrella everywhere! I was looking for an umbrella that was not too heavy, small enough to carry in my bag, yet wide enough to cover me as the smaller umbrellas don't keep one very dry; finally, easy to open and close. This is an expensive umbrella and I think it's mostly for the mechanism. It easily opens and closes with one hand. However you have to push it with your hand to fully close it before opening it again. You can't open it without pushing it closed. It's sturdy, light weight and holds up in the obnoxious windy rain. The canopy was not as wide as I thought. Maybe I misread the size listed. Compared to most, it's a great umbrella but not all I'd hoped for and rather pricey.

Well built
My daughter lives in blustery Dunedin, NZ. I bought her one of these her first year of University, it finally gave up the ghost after 3.5 years of use. Bought her the fully automatic version this time.

Small enough to ride in door pocket. Love it. Second umbrella purchased

Good umbrella but heavy
I liked the coverage and easy to open but didn't like the added weight especially when holding it for a long period of time.

Polyester. Not nylon as advertised.
I wanted a nylon umbrella. They advertised this one as nylon. It is not. It is made out of polyester.
