Decent value, works great after a few tweaks.
This is a decent value Android box however you need to know how to get the best of it. Most if not all Android boxes come with laggy controllers including this one so I'm not going to mark it down for it because it was expected. However I do have a mini keyboard for such devices which works like a charm, no lags, plenty of shortcuts and easy to use and turns this device into a PC. You have to play around with Android boxes and spend time on them to get the best use out of them, it's a bit of hobby unfortunately most of these don't work that well out of the box as well as this one however with a few tweaks, this is an excellent device. Internet connection over Ethernet is great and it plays 4k content smoothly. Runs Kodi pretty well and I was able to install all the apps I needed to.

Works great but might not be for you...
Hard to rate this box for regular users as fundamentally it was pretty much useless to me out of the box. I tried to side-load a number of my favourite apps (emulation apps, latest Kodi, some games) but absolutely none of them would work. These were APK's from my own current and up to date tablet and have worked on other systems, installed via the in-built AppInstaller. But nothing. So the default OS was a total washout. Oh well. But I wasn't here for the Android experience in truth. I wanted to run both CoreELEC and EmuELEC instead of the Android OS. These are Linux based OS's that run both Kodi and retro videogame emulation software respectively from the SD card slot. And I am happy to report that these run flawlessly for me on this box. You can check out a video on YouTube by a guy called ETA Prime, who gives you a bit of tutorial on how to do it. It's very easy. One thing to remember though is that you will have to use the reset button hidden in the headphone jack to boot to the SD card. ETA doesn't have to do this for some reason, but everyone else's box seems to need this step and mine did also. After that though you can't go wrong really. The quality of emulation is really high for the price, being pretty much as good as the Raspberry Pi 4. You'll have to tailor the N64 side of things but when has that ever not been the case on any system? So for the money I would say worth it for Linux, not so much for the default Android OS installed. If it's Android you want, knock my score down to a 1 or 2. For me though, it's a 4.5, with a half point lost only due to a lack of ventilation.

Probably needs updated firmware
Just arrived yesterday, had a nightmare setting this box up. So far I've noticed the following issues: box doesn't output picture after reboot unless power or HDMI are removed, virtual keyboard doesn't hide when physical keyboard is attached, Google Chrome won't update in playstore, top status bar missing so can't see if VPN is connected. Considering returning unless I can resolve these issues.

Nice little box that delivers the goods
Neat box, easy to install. Mine came with a problem; Ethernet port did not work, but the product was still usable on WiFi. The user manual is absolutely the worst I have ever come across. One might as well have taken a random page from a random magazine and read that - it would just have been as enlightening. If it were not for friends who were knowledgeable about android TV, I would have been lost.Since I only have experience of this TV box, I can't really say whether it is good or bad in comparison to others, but I can say it does a good job. The display quality of YouTube videos, especially, is much higher than via the TV app or the Humax app, so this may be an indicator of overall quality.

Controller woes
Seems good value on the face of it and if it worked more easily out of the box it would be a no brainer. Sadly, I've encountered some sinister controller related woes that have taken the shine off.....I tried a gamesir controller with USB dongle, an Xbox 360 controller with dongle, an 8bitdo Bluetooth controller (none of these work). The Bluetooth controller connects but is not active on the home screen or indeed in any games. Only controller I got working was a wired PS4 controller. I'm wary about buying another controller to test as I'll have the palava of sending it back if it doesn't.I whacked emuelec on an SD card and can boot directly into that which is nice. It'd be even nicer if a controller worked with it though. If anybody struggles to boot off SD you might have to jam a cocktail stick in the AV jack and prod the hidden reset button during boot like I did.So, shield TV this ain't.It's gathering dust right now while I muster the enthusiasm to plough thru online forums trying to find a solution to my woes.

Great little box. Easy to set up.
Very happy with this purchase. I use it to watch foreign TV channels on my TV. Streams perfectly. Worked straight out of the box. No setup was required except to log in to Google Play. The remote is perfectly responsive at a distance, don't even have to point it directly at the unit.
