Just what was needed
Had a damp problem with our wooden floor which had been down for many years so we needed to take part of it up to investigate. Needed some flexible adhesive to refix and this had good reviews and as we still had the gun from previous so worked out not too expensive. We still have one tube to use but it has a 12 month shelf life and was manufactured 09/2020 so still a while to go. Quite happy with this product and would use again if needed as it's very sticky but flexible.

supplied in plastic pack tube making it difficult to dispense
This Everbuild LJACK5506 Lumberjack 550 is also available in a standard mastic tube with nozzle. The type you will see in all DIY stores and builders merchants However this product requires a different tool for application which is not so readily used. I did not have the applicator, but decided to cut the top and apply the adhesive by pallet knife. Not as convenient without extruding through a nozzle to get the 'bead effect' but nonetheless, quite usable although more time consuming. IT has the consistency of soft putty, so it can be applied in a similar way.The product is low odour, so working in a non ventilated room is ok. Although the adhesive has a good grab to both surfaces, you can move, compress and position the wood quite well to get a good flush and level fit. When cured the adhesive appears to retain a certain amount of spring, ie not rock hard. This provides the required flexibility for expansion and contraction that flooring adhesives need to prevent buckling and cracking.I would say this is a nice adhesive, especially suited for wooden flooring over clean dust free substrates. Low odour and easy positioning make it easy to work with and a good finish. The plastic sausage wrap is not easy to use if you don't have the applicator and getting the usual version of plastic tube and nozzle for your standard mastic gun is a better option. However, used in the right context this is a good product. (-1 stars because of the non DIY packaging that might be confusing for some people.)

Time will tell about this
Ordered this for my dad to put wooden floorboards as I thought to help in my way. This adhesive requires an applicator which is not mentioned anywhere and for people like me who Just want to help without much know-how of the issue can be a daunting task.Anyway he said it’s good and will use it, with that applicator of course. Will be back with pictures of the inside the tube, but it feels like putty. The price of £7.90 for 600 grams is acceptable though and can be used to fill up any other holes in walls or ceiling.Updates coming shortly.

Ridiculous price!
Sika LJACK5506 Lumberjack 550 Floor Adhesive, Buff, 600ml.When this arrived I first thought it was a large sausage, I thought this as was the shape of a large sausage , even the dogs were excited too! They thought it was a sausage too ha ha.It's actually floor adhesive and it does need a gun to insert it into but the guns are not cheap but luckily my brother in law had one to lend us. My husband has used this already to stick down some loose tiles on the floor in our hall, it has worked but not perfectly as there's still a little movement in the tiles. Why is this so expensive, it's £101.50..... It must be a pricing error as its a ridiculous price! It's an OK product but I would not pay the price its advertised at, doesn't even have a gun included. Not impressed.

Used this to stick some flooring down and its onpoint
Used this in a van conversion to help stick down a few bits of wood. It works well and does what it says on the tin - just like everyone else has said, you'll need a special gun to use this. So if you don't know what this is be careful!

Expensive but a high quality product
This Lumberjack Floor Adhesive is based on a hybrid polymer formula. It is basically a high quality plastic, which is solvent free (better for your health) and water free (better for your floorboards since it will not cause warping). Although it rapidly sets, and dries to form a strong bond, it remains sufficiently flexible to allow for any post-construction movement in the floor. This flexibility makes it suitable for floors which have under-floor heating systems, because it will adjust to the different levels of temperature and heat coming up from down below, without splitting or warping the floor planks. This adhesive comes in a sausage-shaped foil pack, which needs a special sausage cartridge gun to force it out in continuous beads. These specialist guns cost between £10 and £20 according to quality, with the cheaper ones having a poor reputation for durability, so think in terms of £20 added to the cost of using this adhesive. The guns are reusable, as long as you clean the nozzle quickly after use, and do not allow the adhesive to harden and clog the nozzle flow. If this is too much for you, think about buying the adhesive in a tub and using a trowel to spread it. Once opened, the shelf life is much reduced, and even if the half-used sausage is re-sealed, it will tend to harden and become useless after a month, so it is best to use it all up in one session, if you can. Unopened, the normal shelf life is 1 year.Lumberjack adhesive is used for gluing all types of wooden floors to most sub-surfaces… eg: to existing old wooden floors, to concrete, metals, ceramic tiles, vinyl tiles, stone slabs, marble, granite, and terrazzo. Once set and dry, it is not affected by damp and humidity, and can take most chemical attacks, eg from alkalis in the under-floor substrate. Its ability to remain stable under a wide variety of conditions is impressive. It also has some noise reducing properties and will act as a moderate barrier to noise transmission to and from the room below. How much will you need ? A 600 ml sausage will glue about 2 square metres of flooring. It is not a good idea to use it in very cold conditions, eg below 5 degrees C, since extreme cold affects the setting and cure rates. At normal room temperatures, it starts to set quickly and becomes tack-free after about 30 minutes. It is then slow to fully cure and can take between 1 ½ to 2 days to cure sufficiently for the floor to be walked on. It is not recommended for use on damp floors, waxed, greasy, oily, bitumen, dusty, or painted floors, which will have to be cleaned and treated first by damp-proofing or by specialist priming.Price-wise, this adhesive works out at about £45 per square metre of flooring, which astonishingly can sometimes be more than the cost of the floor boards themselves. This is an expensive adhesive, but competitors’ products are about the same price. I found it to work extremely well and used it to glue new engineered wooden planks onto an old, but clean, concrete floor. It felt stable and reassuring to walk on it afterwards.
