First of all, I have NEVER taken the time to review a product on Amazon. However, I wanted to share my story and review this amazing product that ultimately saved my breastfeeding relationship with my daughter. I have breastfed three babies and gotten thrush with two of them. If you have ever had thrush, you know that it is AWFUL and can make you want to quit nursing because of the horrific pain. With my last baby, I had such a terrible time with thrush that I pumped and fed her milk in an Avent bottle until my nipples healed. Once healed, I tried to go back to nursing her again, but she had terrible nipple confusion and could not draw milk out of the breast any longer. She never nursed well again. With this baby, I also got thrush, cracks, and bleeding. I was in so much pain that, again, I decided to pump and feed her from a bottle until my nipples healed. I used the same Avent bottle as I did with my previous baby until I ordered the First Years Breastflow bottle from Amazon and had it overnighted to my home. After I got the Breastflow bottle in the mail, I gave her the expressed milk I had. Just with using the Avent bottle for one day, her suck had already changed and she was confused about the process of latching on to the breast flow bottle. She got used to it after a few sucks, and drank from it like she would a breast. After an entire month of healing, I was finally able to nurse her again without pain. Although it had been a whole month, she nursed like we had never stopped. I attribute this seemingly uninterrupted nursing to this bottle. It literally saved my breastfeeding relationship with my baby. People are saying that this bottle leaks, but only if you open the lid with milk in the nipple. Sometimes milk gets caught in the threads that screw the lid on, and it will drip down, but rarely. People are also saying that this bottle wastes milk because it traps it in the nipple. If you read the instructions that come with this bottle, you will see that there are little buttons you smash that will release the milk from the nipple back into the bottle. This bottle is amazing and I am thankful I found it!

Worth a try for breast fed babies
I stumbled across this product looking at another bottle to transition my baby too. The single bittles were out of stock for the longest and I didn't want to order a kit in case my child decided she hated the bottle. While I feel 30 bucks for 1 bottle is a bit pricey, it's worth it since my child will actually drink from it. Yes milk does fill up inside the nipple and yes the nipple does deflate with continued suction, but neither have been a problem for us. Infant it tells you this on the package and how to empty the milk back into the bottle. From squeezing the nipple I can see how it mimics breast flow of the milk versus any of the other bottles that I've tried. The print on the bottle did not last long, so I took off a star for that, but it works! This was a major concern as my child would not take any bottle bottle and would only drink from the breast. Using this bottle she was able to stay overnight with family and she ate the entire time with no fuss!

Great for breast-feeding moms, who need to supplement with a bottle
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this. I like how it works like a real breast. ( your baby have to suck on it the same way they would suck on a natural breast apparently to get the milk out) Some reviewers commented on how the milk get stuck up in the nipple and goes to waste… Those people obviously did not read the instructions or watch tutorials online. There is a simple way to get the milk back into the bottle part. (you just pinch the nipple a certain way and it all flows back to the bottom, very simple)Pro- very short nipple. I don't know about you but my nipple does not stick out super far like most bottle nipples. My nipple is short and stubby, to be blunt. So this is a perfect representation of it…my infant choked on all other nipples except for this one. Great for moms who breast-feed but need to bottlefeed occasionally.Con- The middle inner blue portion of the nipple is stiff. Not sure why…guess that's how it works. At first my infant didn't seem to like that it was hard but she got used to it.

Disappointing, flows too fast, milk gets caught between inner and outer nipple section
We have tried over 8 bottles, with the slowest flow nipples trying to find one that our baby will not gag on. We heard good things about this one, but I have to say it was awful. The flow was still too fast. The worst part was the special design with an inner and outer nipple made her gag even more. She would suck the milk into that middle chamber hard, it would accumulate, then on next sucking, she would get a gulp of milk exiting the outer nipple. Milk got all over her no matter what angle you held it at. And, it was harder to tell how much she drank since we would end up with a bunch of milk caught in the middle chamber. After a few uses, we put it away and I would not recommend it. Interesting design but did not function as we would have hoped.

Too hard to clean
First tip don't wait 6 weeks to give you baby a bottle!!! I did and now I am paying the price of her being 4 months and still won't take a bottle unless so very hungry (aka daycare) but she is adapting the wrong way and holding out all day (daycare) and waking up all night to eat. When I was on leave she ate all day and slept for 8-10 hours at night. I am lucky to now get a 4 hour stretch of sleep...Anyway...annoying to clean and or my breastfeed baby she couldn't really figure these out.. I bought 8, yes 8!!! different brands, the gerber, nuk, medela, mimijumi, Lansinoh mOmma, 1st years breastflow, advent, and tommee. Tommee was the winner, she still doesn't like it, but it is the one that doesn't make her cry at the sight of it and she will "play" with it and drink something. It isn't any of these brands fault, its mine for listening to the lactation consultant. She is my 2nd baby, my first we introduced a bottle 2nd day of life and she never had nipple confusion and I nursed for for 14 months!
