Comfort Zone products with Feliway are clinically proven 90% effective at reducing urine marking and vertical scratching. The Comfort Zone with Feliway Diffuser product dispenses a drug-free, odorless vapor that mimics a cat’s natural calming pheromones. This vapor signals to your cat that the area is friendly and safe, reducing your cat’s need to spray and scratch. It helps to reduce or completely stop unwanted behavior due to stress-related issues such as multiple pet household, transition from shelter or breeder, moving, home remodeling or furniture changes, or changes in people and pets in the home. Don't let unwanted behaviors ruin your relationship with your cat.

Hurray for Feliway!
I purchased Feliway originally for my cat because she was urinating outside of her litterbox even after she was cleared of her UTI (she was associating the litterbox with pain). I couldn't really tell of the Feliway was working...BUT, the story changed after I rescued a kitten. I was very hesitant to, because I always heard that cats initially do not get along and that they are very territorial. Anyways, I brought my kitten to my apartment and took him into my room. Of course my cat followed with curiosity. She sniffed the kitten and no surprise, she hissed! My boyfriend said to me "just give them a few months together, they will be fine". I moved the Feliway diffuser into my room and spent the day in my bedroom. I made sure to keep space between the two cats. I somehow fell asleep beside my kitten that night and my cat fell asleep on my bed watching us. Around midnight I woke up, put the kitten on the bed where the cat was and there was no hissing! The cat, new kitten, and I all slept on my bed that night. The next morning, we hung out in my living room with the Feliway diffuser in the living room. My cat wanted to PLAY with the kitten! She was rolling on her back and exposing her tummy and pawing at the kitten to play. They eventually ended up cuddling together and napping all day long. I really do think the Feliway made a difference in this interaction. Anyways, they absolutely love each other now.I bought more because I am about to move in a few days and I think it will help with the transition of the move. Oh, I also put the diffuser into the crate when they are going to the vet. Even though it's not plugged in, they can smell it since it is in close proximity. The Feliway is expensive and so are the refills, but it is worth it for your sanity.I don't normally write long reviews for purchases, but I do think this one is worth writing about. My vet initially recommend me the Feliway for the whole post-uti ordeal (btw, no peeing outside of litterbox now).

Same active ingredient and effectiveness as the brand name, for less money
This review is ONLY about the refill bottles, with a comment about diffusers and maybe why some people get less satisfactory results..After using the more expensive version (sold by Ceva) initially, we've been using this product for about three years and think it is absolutely interchangeable with the brand name. Chemically, this is functionally the same thing as the brand name; just read the labels: 2% synthetic cat pheromone in a liquid base. As all manufacturers of this product acknowledge, it works about 90% of the time. That means that around 10% of the reviewers are going to write those ever-so-inciteful "it doesn't work" reviews. So absolutely no promises that it will work every time, because it won't. However, with our cats, we know very well that it does work... for us. Like clockwork, if we forget to change the bottle once a month, we get a gentle reminder in the form of different cat behavior from our male cat, who gets more aggressive with our other cat and starts marking the furniture again. Change the bottle, and he's back to mellow. And it hasn't mattered which brand of refill we use; same results. The amount of misinformation regarding this product is amazing; let's set the record straight on a few things:* it's made in France (same as the brand name), not China.* it doesn't smell bad; in fact, it doesn't "smell" at all when used in a diffuser that is broken in. The unpleasant odor some people have described is from the release of nasty chemicals in the plastic housing of the diffuser, which happens for a few days with a new diffuser (see more about this issue below).* "Feliway" is the trademarked name for a particular type of synthetically produced cat pheromone; "Feliway" is just a name that the manufacturer uses for their mimic of the naturally-occurring stuff. Chemically, the real pheromone is a mixture of substances that cats make naturally and deposit when they rub things or people with their cheeks. US Patent 5709863 (which is expired) describes a number of closely-related synthetic formulas (really, just minor variations on the same theme) that mimic the naturally-occurring stuff. What's important for effectiveness is getting the right chemical composition--regardless of what it's called. By buying and using the Feliway-branded active ingredient, you know that Comfort Zone is selling the same active ingredient as CEVA.* since the Comfort Zone product uses the same active ingredient and has the same country of origin (France), you can infer that they buy from the same supplier, or at least from suppliers making the same stuff under license from whoever owns the formula...ON THE OTHER HAND, while the brand of the refill is freely interchangeable, our experience is that the DIFFUSERS are not. We only buy the model sold by CEVA, as our experience was that the Comfort Zone diffuser seemed to run hotter, give off more unpleasant odor for a longer time, and burn through the refill bottles more quickly.

It may take a few months to begin working but it’s definitely worth the wait.
I have reviewed the Feliway product in the past, but now award them 5 stars. For some cats, the calming effect occurs much earlier.

Didn’t work for my cat and one of my dogs started peeing in the room it was in

I tried.
I didn't find this effective in altering my cats behavior of aggression with other cats or spraying / marking (neutered male who got over excited seeing feral cats outside).

My cat is still psycho and attacking me.
Didn't work. My cat is still a psycho and attacks me even after using this for 3 months. My vet suggested putting my cat on "kitty prozac" instead.

Still testing
We have two cats that don't get along we haven't noticed a great deal of difference. We keep them separated so it we just can't tell whether it's working yet we're going to give...
