I am not a fan of selfies, but my niece and husband are, and their visit forced me to look for a selfie stick so we could take selfies around tourist places in Florida. I've read reviews of several types of selfie sticks and chose this one on the basis of ease of use, cost, folded size, lightweight and popular votes. It is just long enough to get a small group of us nicely in the photo with enough background showing. It fits into a small purse, holds my iPhone 6 Plus and works with one button. In fact, I love it so much, I bought 5 more to give to them and other relatives as gifts. They loved the stick as well.

This is a well-made, sturdy, one-piece selfie stick, meaning the handle and phone clamp are permentely joined. I prefer this type to the 2-part ones that required connecting the handle and phone clamp plus an adapter because there is no chance of anything going missing over time.Completely collapsed, this selfie stick is only 7" long. Easily carried in your daypack or purse. When fully extended, it is about 31"Attaching the phone is very easy. Pull up the top of the clamp, lay the phone on the base, lower the clamp. The phone is now locked in place. Both the base and the top clamp are covered with rubber to protect the phone and to further eliminate any chance of the phone slipping out. The handle is also covered with a rubberized material for comfort and non-slip.You can choose the position, forward and back, for for the phone camera depending on the requirements of the intended shot. It goes forward and back about 270 degrees with a thumb screw to lock it in the chosen position.There is just one button. Press it to snap the phone, press and hold for 3 seconds to turn the selfie stick on or off. Alternatively, if left on but not used for 5 minutes, the selfie stick goes into the sleep mode to conserve the battery. Press once to wake it up when you are ready to shoot then press again to snap the shot.The stick is charged with the included charging cable by plugging it into the USB port on the bottom of the handle.Also on the bottom of the handle is lanyard you can hang from your wrist.Pairing the selfie stick and your phone is easily done. So many self sticks, so little time to review all of them. I was asked to give an unbiased review on this selfie stick. I received it free.Let's see.. Why did it rate five stars?It is sturdy! It held my phone without feeling as it it was going to fail to hold my phone securely. I shook the heck out of it to see if my phone would go flinging into space. My phone stayed put. (Used non functioning phone for that test! I don't want to risk a working smartphone.)I turned on the Bluetooth, bam, my phone paired up nearly instantly. No codes, no messing around, no trial and error. Paired, done at the speed of light.It has a wrist strap for us old people who need to worry we might drop the stick and our phone off the top of the Grand Canyon. (Big worry. Do you realize that losing a cell phone at the Grand Canyon means you never see it again? Rates for replacing broken phones can cost $150-300 depending on insurance. I don't want to risk my phone attached to the end of a stick without a wrist strap.)Extension is easy and smooth. No yanking or shoving to make the poles slide in or out, they work smoothly.Button on the handle means no fumbling with a dangling button. This one is built right in, right where I would naturally grip it.I will send it off to the teenagers for a test. They might or might not find it to their liking. They have differing viewpoints regarding what makes a good selfie stick. I will update with any comments they have.

Was provided this product for review / testing purposes.Now the real disclaimer, I've always hated selfies and would've never bought one of these myself. However, this is a real quality product, very well made, and serves the purpose. This would fit any smartphone in the market, can work with tripod for videos and is real handy. I've always used DSLR cameras over the years when we go on vacation, but in the last 1-2 years it has become less and less as its not very convenient to carry it around, plus the whole hassle of downloading and then uploading the photos to whatever social media website, plus to the cloud for storage. At less than 7 inches (or 18 cm) it can easily fit into a handbag, any carry bag or even a jeans pocket. The charge lasts forever and I think all you have to do is fully charge it once before you go on a trip, my experience is that it will last the whole trip. Try this selfie stick and it really can come in handy, especially at the current price of under $15 its a great buy.
