Q: I have a 2008 silverado 1500 z71 with 4wd, will these roters work?

I have used these grooved rotors on a 04 Avalanche 1500 (upgraded to GMT900 Caliper and Rotor size), and a 2011 Sierra. It will fit 08 Silverado. I've used with both full metallic and ceramic pads. Do yourself a favor and use the ceramic Akebono pads. Metallic pads will grab these rotors harder, thus wear them faster. Grooves in rotors are caused by pad debris and uneven pad wear (caliper problem or cheap pads). GM trucks are notorious for inside pad wearing faster due to inboard pad doesn't move away from rotor. You can help this a bit by purchasing spreader clips. Just be certain to purchase the correct style for your specific caliper. Always gravity bleed your system once per year and top off with fresh fluid! Heavy use on a1500 with full metallic pads yielded me 3 years. Rotors were still good but pads were shot. Switched out rotors due to going back to ceramic pads. These are the best OE style replacement/upgrade rotors. Much better than what you fpart parts stores.
