Good quality and better with H20
I buy this for my little fluff ball, Chloe. The ingredients are better than most other brands out there, and she seems to enjoy it. AS A TIP to all cat owners: Most cats, I've found, do not drink enough water on their own. Perhaps it's an indoor cat thing, perhaps they are all prone to it. As cats get older, their kidneys often begin to weaken. I add at least 1/4 cup of water to this cat food EVERY time she eats. I split the can into quarters and feed her three times a day. For her weight, 3/4 of a can per day, with a few quality nuggets or some fresh fish thrown in, works out well. You can tell the difference when you clean out her litter box. The water dilutes her urine and the box doesn't have that strong ammonia smell. She's much healthier for it, I believe. Give it a shot.

Great product but am adding to the bandwagon of receiving ...
Great product but am adding to the bandwagon of receiving catfood that is bad and can be dangerous to your cat. First time using "subscribe and save" and had high hopes for getting a regular shipment. First shipment arrived with a funny smell and bugs hopping around under the shrink wrap. I looked here to see if it was a rare thing but I see that I am not the only one.

Bad Batch! 28CTS415 Best Buy 7-26-18
I believe this cat food has been making my cats sick. We've been using it for many months, but received a bad batch causing diarrhea and throwing-up. After spending nearly $300 at the vet with no conclusive evidence of any illness, I stopped the food for 4 days. During this time there was no instance of sickness. When I started it again, both cats became sick again nearly immediately. Now it has been two weeks without serving this food and there hasn't been a single instance of illness. I strongly believe this food to be the cause. Batch number: 28CTS415 Best Buy 7-26-18

Excellent choice!
I feed my 6 cats ( rescues, with health issues) only certifield organic food ( Newman's Own brand). I don't think that organic food is magic, but it is USA-made and meets strict processing standards. Foods with words like 'natural' 'holistic/wholistic' etc, are meaningless ...have no required standards. But Newman's Own is certified 'USDA organic'; it must meet specific quality standards. They don't try to fool their customers by using these meaningless terms like human-grade' or 'all natural.' Expensive....but worth it to me to avoid the heartbreak of a poisoned pet. The pet food industry doesn't care how badly it hurts us owners to lose a pet. It isn't just the food from China. American pet food companies use the most disgusting things in pet food....animal digest...meat by-products...'meal'....stuff treated with chemicals to make it legal to feed to pets. Pet food manufacturers also do 'splitting' when listing ingredients to make the ingredients list look like it contains better quality food than it really does. Unfortunately, most vet schools do not include much information about pet nutrition in their curriculum so even the best vets get much of their nutrition 'education' from pet food reps (check the required courses for vet programs at universities). A good source of information about the pet food industry is Martin's book, "Food Pets Die For." When you open the can, you smell turkey...not chemicals.

That said my aging cat 16 was on better brands but have moved him to organic orientated foods ...
After loosing my dog to tainted 'healthy brand' jerky strips several years ago I am EXTREMELY skeptical of ANY pet food brands. That said my aging cat 16 was on better brands but have moved him to organic orientated foods and he had a cancer lump removed from him in 2013. Now I do not treat him as a finicky cat but a canary because in 2015 he rejected the 'wellness brand after loving it and then I found that there was a recall on cans produced in a newer west coast location. If he does not want it I trust he has a good reason. Now he mostly wants real human grade organic meat BUT he is 30% of the time eating newmans canned and Organix Castor and pollux dry food moistened with water. I am still skeptical of fast food brands for pets because a vet told me he noticed an uptick in cat health issues thyroid when the pop tops came on the market. The other so called "healthy'' wellness which he was on the prior 6 yrs was NOT organic and I found the cans were not tin but aluminum. So between bp lined cans and aluminum toxic cans it is nearly impossible to not feed poison to my pet less I adhere to organic human grade meats. But I keep to the dry food organix. Oh and by the way my vet bills are null compared to the 40 yrs of multiple cats and dogs sometimes as many as 8 at one time. I rather spend more on the non toxic "real" foods and less on vet bills. Frankly I believe my vet cuts me slack because she knows how well I treat my fur burs. I have left a routine check paying $20 rather than the average $50 visit.

Not enough food in can!
In the last 2 months the price has gone up and the food doesn't even fill the can anymore. I think I'm about done with Newman's Own.

Cats won't eat it, unless you starve them.
I love Paul Newman, I respect that his companies profits, (all of it), is going to charity, and that's why I'd pay extra for it, but I won't pay this much. Out of all the canned cat food I have tried, my cats like this the least. I'm very sorry to have to say that, because I respect Paul Newman so much, but it's true. Canned food is supposed to be served at room temperature, which makes it a problem to deal with. My cats only eat small amounts of canned food at a time. if I leave this out for two days, 65 degree temp, inside zip lock bag, it's spoiled. I believe the price has skyrocketed, probably for xmas. I've had this same problem with other canned cat food, but none of them spoiled in that short length of time. Some of it is good, some of it is not, even when you buy it all at the same time. I can't explain why unless there just isn't good enough quality control on it.
