Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion with Salicylic Acid, 1.7 fl. oz

Alright, stop, drop and calm yourselves 1-star-ers...Just for quick background -- I have been using this face lotion (specifically) since I was 14 and I am now almost 27. That is 13-years using a product and never having a single complaint - only love....Now I can rant on and on about how "before this lotion, I had terrible acne," and "how it's changed my life (which it has...) and I couldn't imagine a more-perfect acne-fighting face lotion," but the truth is: It's a toss up. I see reviews here say their breakouts got worse after using it -- well tough noogies, guys! Don't hate the product for it -- it's not the right one for you! Even PROACTIV had users complaining it worsened their acne problem...No one product is going to work for everyone, that's why you have to try things out and find the one that fits your skin.In my case, this lotion is magic in a bottle and, if it were discontinued tomorrow, I would go on ebay, craigslist and anywhere I could find it and buy out every last bottle and find a way to preserve it.PROS: It's light, it blends smoothly into my skin, works almost PERFECTLY with any makeup application (though, with how clear and moisturized this lotion keeps my skin, eventually I didn't even need makeup), and feels comfortable all day and all night - never dry, never oily or shiny, never a bad reaction. For me, this lotion works so well that I often forget that it's technically for fighting acne, which I haven't had since, well, I was 14.CONS: Would it be a 5-star review if I had any? The only time I was upset with the lotion was when it wasn't in my life for almost a year because I was too lazy to drive 30-minutes to the nearest Walmart in my part of California and I started to break out again. But then I saw the 3-pack deal on Amazon and.. here we are.Speaking of the three pack issue. About 90% of these one-star reviews (specifically for the lotion) mentioned they only got ONE of the guaranteed "(Pack of 3)"To that I say, I have no idea what's going on. I 100% believe that many of you were jipped on the other two lotions, but some of you also received the three. I'm going to cite human error here on Neutrogena's part on Amazon... I read so many of those reviews that I worried my order would also have the same disappointing outcome and I even checked the tracking info to confirm the "package weight" matched what it should be if carrying (3) lotions. Fortunately, the Rapid Clear Acne Defense gods decided I shouldn't go an entire year without it again.SOLUTION: It's very simple, and I understand it's quite taboo so buckle up -- If you order this three-pack and receive only one ---> Re-turn it. It is eligible for returns. Send it back, order it again to ensure a three-pack or go to Walmart (where it seems to be the only place you can find it now) and get a single pack if you are trying it for the first time.That's the way the cookie crumbles. I purchased this product because Olay spot zinger has been out of stock and it seemed comparable. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin as an adult. This lotion is great. I've used it twice a day for 4 days and have noticed my skin improving slightly. Which is good because I had already been using products I felt like were working. It has NOT dried out my skin or caused more breakouts which is a struggle I have when trying out new products. I like this lotion because it comes in a larger quantity than the spot zinger and seems to be working just as well if not better. It doesn't feel oily. In fact after putting it on I really can't tell it's even there.

I've been using this lotion paired with a benzyl peroxide (10%) cream for months now with fantastic results.My acne story:When I was 18, my GYN suggested birth control for regulation of my menstrual cycle. A few months after beginning, my face began to break out. It progressively got worse and I consulted a doctor. I tried lots of Rx, but nothing would consistently work because the birth control was causing hormonal problems. I tried ProActiv after I gave up the Rx acne meds. No luck. I suffered from acne for a few years until recently. I just turned 22 and my face is so much better. I stopped taking my birth control medication about 8 months ago. Subsequently I tried ProActiv with little success (I went through almost 3 months of use before I gave up on that). I decided to try a drugstore brand acne system called AnceFree. This worked to kick-start my skin's recovery! AcneFree helped SO much! After I used for about 2 months with fantastic results, I switched to a gentle cleanser (CervaVe), this Neutrogena face lotion, and a 10% benzyl peroxide cream (they all work the same). This has been my system ever since. This 1.7oz tube has lasted me 3 months so far with twice daily use all over the face.The bottom line:I highly recommend this lotion, if you are willing to give it time to work. No acne medication is going to clear your face within a week, or even two weeks. You MUST give the products time to work! Sometimes, like ProActiv for me, they just don't work. This stuff is around $7 for a tube, so there isn't much to lose. Unlike ProActiv which is almost $50 a month. There is no harm in giving this a try.TIPS:+Do not use anything else with salicylic acid in it+Do not use anything with salicylic acid in it with a Rx acne medication+Use a GENTLE cleanser+Wash twice daily only+Wash for two minutes at night (your face has more gunk on it than in the morning)+MAKE-UP WEARERS: Remove makeup with a wipe or olive oil (fantastic for makeup removal AND scar healing) BEFORE CLEANSING! No cleanser will get all your makeup off, which can cause your pores to constantly become clogged.+HANDS AWAY FROM THE FACE!+GIVE YOUR SKIN TIME TO REACT! Skin has a long cell-renewal cycle, so results can take time.

So far one if the best lotions ive put on my skin.
