Very nice hats. I ended up getting 5 different solid colors only - Black, Navy, Khaki, Natural, and Olive. Their "Navy" colored one looks more like a washed denim in their photo depiction, but it's a nice deep navy in reality. Actually, none of their display photos do these things any justice. Their photos of the solid colors kinda make it look like they're made out of some creepy, swirly material, but not so. The material, as I suspected, looks more like the material shown in their photos of their different "Camo" colored hats. As others have noted, their description in their posting says they're "100% Cotton", and the labels in the hats say "60% Cotton/40% Polyester". I'm generally pretty sensitive to polyester and can tell when it's against my skin. As far as I can tell, the nice thick 'brim' and 'taper' ( the upright or 'side' crown) as well as the sweat band are 100% cotton, and the only polyester parts are in the comfortable inner padding (lining) of the sweat band (which doesn't touch your skin) and the thinner, very top (horizontal) piece of the crown, which are both strategically placed to help us stay cool by wicking moisture away since polyester does this much better than cotton.I'm a size 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 typically. I got their size Large and they fit beautifully.I find the 2 1/2" length of the brim to be just right. I find the 3' (or longer) brim on the "Boonie" hats to be just too long, doofy, and floppy. And the typical "Bucket" hats are at most 2 inches and tend to stick almost straight down in front of my eyes and interfere with trying to wear glasses.And I had no use for the chin straps, so I just got a good pair of scissors and cut them off. Perfect!!

Great hat! Quality construction, only first grade materials used in the construction of this hat. Upon closer inspection of the stitching it became obvious that a great deal of care was used in the manufacture of this item. The fabric is soft which is exactly what I had hoped for. I'm a freelance photojournalist and the other headgear options like baseball caps and straw hats would always be in the way when I would bring the camera to my eye. The alternative of wearing my baseball cap with the bill to the rear besides being a look I don't care for, completely defeats the purpose of wearing a hat. This hat serves multiple functions: keeps the sun off my head neck and eyes, The soft brim allows me to use my camera without it bumping into a stiff brim and knocking the hat completely off my head and with a few spritzes of Scotchgard Outdoor Water Shield, 10.5-Ounce it also becomes foul weather gear.

This is a nice hat. It seems well made, its comfortable and the snaps hold tight but are easy to manipulate. It looks nice, but the reason I only gave 4 stars has to do with the looks. It said "washed" in the description for the style I bought, so I expected it to look broken in. What I didn't expect was how light the colors would be. The washing effect makes it light enough that it may be a detriment in the woods. Still looks cool, but I'm not sure I can wear it on my upcoming hunting trip...

Arrived in great shape, just flattened. I'm happily surprised that it doesn't give me crazy hair like baseball caps do. And really does keep your head cooler than a bb cap. The color is dead on (for desert camo anyway) - just like on screen. The onscreen image of the brim is also dead-on, but the hat I got seems a tad shorter on top than the photo. Or maybe my XL head ends up pulling it down a bit. Regardless I like it. Can really tell the difference a brim on the side makes (vs. a cap) - keeps more sun out of your eyes and off your face. Was at first afraid the wife would laugh - just got done ordering her one at HER insistence. Might also get another for myself sometime. Arrived fast, too, and I just use the el cheapo shipping.

I ordered this hat to fulfill the purpose of one that I lost. This hat is well made and seems to be very durable. The brim is just a hair (no pun intended) stiff, but some of the other reviewers definitely like this. The twill cloth is soft and comfortable and for a guy with a large head, I was really surprised that the XL size was accurate. This hat fits well without squeezing my nugget and in high wind or being unceremoniously dumped off of a top-rider kayak the chin cord keeps it in place. The snaps do a great job of keeping the sides up until you need them. All said, I'm ordering more soon. Buy this in confidence!

A nice hat when I need to be out in the rain or sun. I fell between size L and XL and the fit is a little generous but I'm hoping it will shrink some when I wash it. It is rather soft and not as stiff as it could be. Our boonies in '68 were a little heavier.

I haven't bought a whole heck of a lot of bookie caps. I DO know that I hate big bills that reminds me of a modified cowboy hat. I want something that I can shove in the bottom of my pack and then pull it out and it keeps its form. The fabric is very flexible and and the bill is light. I have a big head and it is difficult to find sizes. This thing fits perfect! This is probably the best boonie I have ever owned (which isn't saying much). However, it is what I pictured in my head and it arrived and I was pleased when I tried it on. Exactly what I wanted. I have only worn it a couple times and it seems to be very durable. Only time will tell. But I give it top marks and plan to order Moreno colors.

The hat is great. I've been using it to keep the sun off my face and neck and it's been great so far. I've thrown it a backpack when not in use and it bounces back to shape no problem when I put it on again. I've gotten several comments on how good looking it is too so extra bonus points there. The material is a good weight, no so light that it looks like it will wear out or tear very easily but not so heavy to make it too hot. I wear a 7-1/4 or 7-3/8 hat typically and this one fits me just fine, not too tight but tight enough that I cut off the chin cord.
