A metabones adapter/speed booster is one of the must-have accessories for the Panasonic GH5. It’s like adding a super35 camera (albeit a manual focus one in the case of Nikon glass) to your bag with all the quality of the GH5 for a quarter of the price.

This has been a fantastic purchase for me for use with my Panasonic GH4 and Sigma 18-35mm. I am just second guessing my choice to go with the Nikon version. I also had a Nikon full frame and some Nikon lens, but I think I'm going to be trading all that in for some canon gear.

Amazing!
Received the product a day earlier than scheduled. Mounted it onto my GH4 and instantly fell in love with its capabilities. Let's in more light, and cuts down my crop to 1.5 vs. 2.3, and the most important thing is that it fits nice and flush and secures my lenses perfectly.

Great adapter, almost perfect
The media could not be loaded. I picked this adapter up because I decided to go with the Panasonic GH5 for my video needs. Prior to that I was using the Nikon D500. I decided to keep my current Nikkor lenses because I still use my D810 for photography. This adapter is well made and works as expected. However just in case you didn't know, this adapter does not communicate electronically with Nikkor lens. This means that you will not have autofocus, VR (if your lens supports it) or in camera aperture control. Not only that, you won't be able to view your aperture in camera. Now I knew all of this prior to purchasing the device so that's not something that I can complain about...although it would've been nice to have these things, I really don't use any of them for video work...well besides the ability to see my aperture setting. Now I don't think that this is a issue with the adapter, I believe it has more to do with Nikon not allowing compatibility. The only minor complaint that I have is the slight wiggle between the device and the lens. It doesn't appear to affect anything but it can be annoying for a piece of equipment this expensive. I probably wouldn't recommend this setup for photography as you do get some vignetting in the corners and no auto focus could make photography a bit of a hassle depending on what type of photography you shoot. However this device works great for my needs.

Better Speed Booster Than Most But You Do Loose All Auto Focus
The optics in this adapter are better than most you will find. You loose little in the image quality. It is noticeable with images but you are unlikely to see the softening when you use for video work. The result of the .64x magnifacation results in your lens having a 1.3x crop factor instead of it's normal 2x crop on a micro 4/3 camera. So that 35mm Nikon lens would usually result in a 70mm Full Frame view on the Micro 4/3 now acts like a 45.5 wide field of view for images taken. You will also get a sightlier thinner focus area. This results in the ability to achieve better bokeh at larger apertures. This is a pricey piece of gear but if you have a good supply of Nikon glass it can save you money in the long-run. Buy buying this Metabones you can stop having to go after those new Micro 4/3 lenses.
