Takes some assembly but it's lots of fun! Try it without batteries too.
This is pretty neat. Our kids are 7, 3, and 1 year old. It was a gift for the 3 year old. Here are some thoughts after using it for a month.Age range is a little awkward. It's 3 and up, but really the entertainment factor begins around a year and maybe fades by 4. The problem with that is it's difficult for a one year old or toddler for that matter to line up the spinnyo on the track without some hand eye coordination practice (hence the higher age bracket, I think). Our youngest was 11 months old when his brother got it. He keeps wanting to play with it, and taps the yo's on the track then let's go, so the yo falls to the floor. He's beginning to understand the goal, just can't get it quite yet. He also pulls up on it, which makes it too over and he falls backward hitting his head on the floor (our downstairs isn't carpeted). We'll be moving it up to the playroom so he lands on the carpet because he isn't going to to stop being interested in playing or pulling up any time soon. (So just be aware). His brothers like to set things up to be knocked over as the yo launches off the bottom. We had all the neighborhood kids over for hot chocolate after sledding, and they ranged from 11 months to 2nd and 3rd graders. They all had fun checking it out, I was surprised the older kids were so into it. But the ones using it most were definitely 3-4 years. The little ones watched the whole time, catching (or fetching) the yo's as they launched off the ends. This is not complicated to assemble if you look at the directions, just a little time consuming. The kids don't even know that it takes batteries! We never put them in. It's fun to watch, it doesn't need sound. It's not necessarily boring, but older kids are going to send it down each track and then probably move on, maybe come back later. The little ones who have trouble getting the yo on the track are the ones who have the most interest, but not the coordination to get the full value of it. If a child expects battery operated, motorized, light up, sound effects, etc then they probably won't be as amazed with the neat tricks this kid powered toy can do.

Great toy and hours of play
The media could not be loaded. It took about 30 minutes to put together but we'll worth the time. It's such a different toy rather then something with cars. It's fun, a little pricey but it's worth it. Easy to use. The quality is great. And it's as tall as my 18 month old grandson.

the whole family enjoys this toy!
we've had this toy for about 2 weeks now and it still gets played with everyday by all of the kids, from 2 to 10...it is really entertaining...i bought it for the toddlers, but the older kids were the first ones to get their hands on it and played with it for over half an hour...even us adults think it is a really fun and cool toy...there are about 5 different pathways that the spinnyos can go down...my older kids figured out all the gadgets within the first time playing with it and showed me all that it could do...since they have taken robotics class and naturally love to play with magnets and build things, this toy, although geared for younger kids, was irresistible to them! like i said, everyone plays with this everyday...one review i read said it is really big, but not in my opinion...the tallest point, the red part, is about 30 inches, the same height as my 2 year old...it's about 20 inches wide...it could fit into a corner of a room, no problem...but if you have a small space, i could see where it might look gigantic...however, since this toy is constantly played with, we keep it in the living room and isn't a problem for us...i also bought an extension track and plan to buy more just to add to the fun...i hope they come out with more of these...this was an awesome purchase for our family! even my husband who complains about my shopping plays with this!

Unique and fun!
I have three boys, 9, 7 & 3. When you have older children, sometimes it is difficult to find unique gifts for the youngest. This is definitely unique. My 3 year old likes magnet tiles and marble runs. This is kind of combining the two. I knew my 3 year old would like this coaster, but would quickly tire of if it didn't have a way to add variety, so I purchased two of the accessory pieces to go with it. We have had it almost a week. All three boys enjoy playing with it. Some things to note:1. Assembly does take some time, 15 to 20 minutes. The screws for the purple door shoot are kind of difficult to get in since the pockets the screws fit in are deep and narrow.2. If you purchase the snap on accessories, you should know they don't just snap on anywhere you want them too. Because the rails have curves in them, the accessory pieces must fit the curve (kind of like a puzzle) in order to work properly. Figuring out where they fit adds to the fun, and problem solving. Each accessory has two or three places it will fit. And in those places you can try turning the accessory upside down for a different effect. The places the accessories fit are marked on the coaster with shapes (circles, squares, and triangles).3. There are places to store all the parts including the small knock-down barrels which is nice. I keep the knock down barrels in the red basket on the coaster. We have a total of 6 spinnyos. Three fit on the orange circle in the middle of the coaster. The others can either rest at the bottom of some of the rails or in the cut-away circles in the frame of the coaster. There is plenty of room to store 6 to 10 spinnyos.
