Good artwork; pretty good story for toddlers. The usual theme of "the little one doesn't have his power and is feeling left out, and then he gets it." Reminiscent of Hans Christian Anderson duckling. Nothing scary or offensive.

If this does not make the all time best Children's Literature list, then a crime has been committed.This story is great, and superb illustrations by P.J. Lynch who captured the beautiful essence of Gina Wilson's prows.These two should definitely team up for another project... A sequel, a pre-quel, something entirely different, anything.My daughter adores this book. So much that years back I read it for her K-class. Both the teacher and the assistant ended up taking down the information because the students all wanted a copy, and they gave the info to the parents.

A gift for my grand daughter. Nobody complained so I guess it was good.

My sons' attention was riveted by this tale, and I know it is going to be a favorite I'll need to re-read again and again. The detailed illustrations only add to a story that isn't clearly predictable in it's progress although the conclusion might be guessed. Positive messages are clear, and Ignis' feelings of being different are easily identified with at any age. Highly recommend this!

we love love love this book. my son turned 5 and dragons are all we talk about, this book we read just about every night. it's lovely.
