Dura-Trel 11148 Sunburst Trellis, White Lattice

This trellis has smooth edges, nicely done surfaces, and gapless connections. Material quality is good and manufacturing has been well done.The vinyl is fairly thick, flexible, and tough. Should last a long time.The trellis assembly appears to be rigid enough to withstand gale force winds. The lattice openings dissipate much of the wind's force. It will probably withstand storm force winds, time will tell on that.Assembly was easy. Just need to insert pieces together and drill some holes for the self-tapping screws.Package includes two galvanized angles approx 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 1/16" x 14" long intended for ground mounting. I used them to extend the height of the trellis to 72" high, in order to provide total view blocking from neighbor's deck to my deck.These galvanized angles insert into to the bottom of the trellis posts. Insertion length should be at least 4" for strength and rigidity (10" of angle below the bottom of the trellis results in overall trellis height of 72"). Drill holes through the trellis posts and angles and fasten with stainless steel sheet metal screws. Then etch, prime, and paint the angles to match the color of the trellis (I used Duplicolor Self Etching Primer, and then hardware store spray primer and paint).I then built a cedar support rail, applied Sikaflex sealant to its bottom, and screwed it to the deck. I then screwed the angles to the support rail at their lower edges. The trellis posts are sturdy enough to screw them to the upper horizontal deck railing to complete the installation.Although this trellis is fairly expensive, the quality of the product is worth the price.

$90 for one unit is a ripoff! I thought it was for two. My bad. Instructions not clearly written. Flimsy ground anchor system

The trellis does exactly what we intended it to do, and looks very nice installed. Installation was a major hassle, with poor instructions, and we had to figure out a few hurdles to assemble it and to attach it to the ground anchors. The hardest was that the self-tapping screws for attaching to the ground anchor base did not work to go through the steel anchors. I had to buy a titanium drill bit to be able to drill a hole in the anchor to screw the screw into. Then it worked fine. It you don't mind working a bit at installation, this is a very nice trellis.

Cheap and flimsy.

Love it! It's my neighbor privacy blocker. Now I don't have to stare at them! Made really well. Customer service is amazing in the US in WI. Helped talk me thru how to attach the planter box. I saved money by pairing it with the green planter box.

After months of frustration trying to find a headboard I liked for my bed, I got creative. This beautiful trellis now serves a a headboard on a twin bed. To make up for the fact it is not as wide as the bed, I glued the two posts, which would have been used to put in ground,to the outside of the trellis posts. I put artificial flowers in them and the effect is a headboard same size as bed. Love it. Had a little concern about screwing through material but a call to the manufacturer cleared it up.

THE ITEM WASN'T AT ALL WHAT IT CLAIMED TO BE. IT WAS CHEAP AND OVERPRICED. THEN WHEN YOU WANT TO RETURN IT, THEY MAKE YOU PAY FOR THE RETURN OF THIS TERRIBLE ITEM. IT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE ALLOWED TO BE PURCHASED ON AMAZON. WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.
