Panfish good, salmon very bad
Good for panfish, bad for salmon- I snapped my overly priced rod in half. Like I said, panfish good, salmon bad

but can easily manage 12-18" trout
Feels light even given it's length. Very sensitive yet strong enough backbone to land bigger fish; perhaps not salmon as mentioned in the 2-star review below, but can easily manage 12-18" trout.

Heavy at 14 ft 7 in but great and solid at 13 ft
The rod looks very nice. The cork handle looks good, but not of the highest quality (so I disagree with the advertisement). I feel that the cork handle is too large for my hands, but some may like it. Can be used at two lengths (13 ft and 14 ft 7 in) depending on angling situations. At 14 ft 7 in, the rod feels very heavy and unstable. I recommend that you use this rod at 13 ft and extend the rod when needed or when landing a fish so that you don’t need to hand gather lines so much (so there is an advantage for being a zoom rod). There are many other two-way zoom tenkara or keiryu rods with similar lengths that feel much lighter than this rod. At 13 ft, this rod feels reasonably light. Although it is still a bit on the heavy side, I feel that the rod is very well-balanced, strong and stable when casting (13 ft). With my casting style, this rod does not work well with light level lines (size 3 to 4); but works well with the tapered nylon line sold at Tenkara USA. Overall, I feel that it is a bit expensive than I like for this quality, but at 13 ft, I am very satisfied with this rod.
