I love it. Make sure you have an external battery for power suppleif you are not using your car. 40 pounds of ice is a lot going in but it is never wasted becauseI water my plants with it when I get home. It is more valuable as as dehumidifier to me.We are in the hottest season of the year so it was a real God sent.

Works well under the right circumstances.
I live out of my campervan and was moving to a dry, hot, dusty environment with my two dogs and cat. It's main function for me is keeping my pets cool during 100° weather in the van while I'm at work.Initially it was very expensive to cool efficiently as I was buying bagged ice which melts quickly. Large block ice works wonders but at $4 a bag and needing four of them per day it was a struggle. Made friends with a grocery store manager who allows me to use their deep freezer to keep four 1 gallon jugs frozen at all times, and I swap them out. Those would keep the air cold all day.I found that on moderate days, if the reservoir is filled to the brim with water, it needs no ice to keep a cool breeze going. (Don't forget it's full before driving away; it will slosh out the sides.)4 stars because it performed exactly as described, and customer service even called ME to make sure I knew what I was purchasing and to make sure I had the number to call any time.Minus 1 star because it could use a couple easy additions. Even in the instructions pamphlet it recommends using an air filter in dusty environments, but they do not provide one. Cheese cloth duct taped around the air intake has been sufficient. The biggest issue I've had is the water pump getting clogged... They have no filter on the water intake, and first it was the labels disintegrating off my water jugs that clogged it. After that, multiple times my pets hair has clogged it. You can pull apart the pump to clean it but it's not convenient, especially when you're trying to solve it sitting in the van in the sun. A fuel pump strainer from any auto parts store (I just used the make/model of my van to pick one) does an amazing job at keeping the water pump nice and clear. My last comment is probably an unintentional side effect, but where I'm at currently is dense with smoke from forest fires nearby. With a mesh-cloth towel over the intake, I'm able to sit in the van and not have my eyes and throat burn due to smoke, as the towel acts as a secondary air filter. If GoCool could provide an air and water filter for the unit, I would give it 5 stars without a doubt.

Poor system, doesn't efficiently work
Poor system, doesn't efficiently work. I used it to put it inside a limo of ours to use it as extra cooler along with the limos' AC unit. I was was very disappointed by it. The fan speed is not that powerful. Overall, it's not worth spending $400 + on this unit. It should be more like $100-$150 at the most.

Bad Deal
I bought this unit, it did not come close to cooling my cab, I returned it to the manufacturer, asked for a refund, did not get my money back. Based on being out $450 plus $100 to return the unit in perfect condition, I say to anyone interested, you will not like dealing with these people.

Not bad. it keeps my tent cool and i can sleep like a baby. Only wish that the ice could be held longer. grant it ice will melt regardless. but i feel maybe the cooler could have been more insulated like the yeti cooler, in which the ice lasts for 5 days instead of the current few hours i got out of it. i find myself retrofitting the cooler with more insulation to get the ice from melting too quickly. I live in Hawaii, so the humidity is a little high at times, the go cool does dehumidify the air which is a plus. Now the Gocool has a collapsible handle in which you need to pull the Gocool behind you rather than push it, if you push the handle it will not hold and just collapse on you. this is even stated in the manual, "dont push" Pull". in my opinion is very irritating , because im so use to pushing Coolers in front of me! i cant believe that the company intentionally designed it that way! it makes no engineering sense at all! its gotta be a design flaw! anyway i felt its a little overpriced (but i had to have it!) it does the job of keeping you cool like an air condtioner running on freon. dont see anything else on the market like it. I still like it! 4 stars, yes i would recommend it. ill be kicking myself later should the price drop!
