Released way to soon. WARNING DO NOT BUT BIG ISSUES THAT CAUSE SECURITY BIG ISSUES
Product was released before it was even close to being ready. this will be broken into big issues up top and ongoing issues bellowI WILL KEEP THIS UPDATED AS THINGS ARE CHANGEDBIG DEAL ISSUES!! Gate control is now functional on both Android and Apple.!YOU CAN NOT GIVE GUESS ACCESS TO THIS CONTROLLER WITHOUT GIVING THEM ACCESS TO EVERYTHING IN YOUR RING OR AMAZON KEY ACCOUNT.GUEST ACCOUNTS CAN NOT ACCESS THIS DEVICE. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!BIG WARNING!! THIS THING IS NOT WEATHERPROOF!! THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THIS ON AMAZON.COM NOT ON THE BOX AND THEY DONT TELL THE INSTALLER . IF RAIN TOUCH'S THIS AND IS SHORTS OUT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY!!! YOU NEED THIS IN A $150 BIG WEATHER BOX SO HIDDEN BIG EXPENSE .ONGOING ISSUES1 box was missing things that it says it comes with exp labels , connectors, lineup template.2 This thing is "NOT" weather proof and it tells you this NO WHERE!!! like at all . My installer found out by him asking ring support that is Crazy that this device isnt weather proof and is made to control outside gates and they dont tell you at all. so be prepared to buy a extra $150 big weatherproof box .3 ring app isn't even ready for a few weeks.. Update: today a update was released giving full functionality of the gate to the Android version of the Ring app it was already functioning for the Apple version of the Ring app.4 setup isn't 123 like they say I was on the phone with a team just for this device for over a hour an the set up process is very long tho he was very helpful.5 this device requires a installer not because it's difficult but because they don't Want include the hardware like wires to make it homeowner friendly so if your good with wiring this isn't hard at all (do not do yourself if you don't have a clue about wiring they will not help you so don't even try)6 if you have the cellular model any metal (even gate itself) will make it's connection drop often so you need to place this device far from any metal surfaces. Something they only tell you after you buy it and open the box to a warning label.7 make sure you have a big weather covered box 110 outlet within 5 feet of your gate opener for this device. this comes with a regular cellphone charger plug and USB cable for power so weather elements can destroy it easily.8 read up as much as you can if you are doing this yourself before it comes in, because it does not come with any instructions at all. pro installer only lol .trust me a (pro) installer that isn't directly from ring is gonna need instructions regardless .

Total Awesomeness!!!!
This is incredible!I can open and close my driveway gate in the ring app, while simultaneously watching the gate through my Ring Doorbell Live Video!!!So far it has worked perfectly, but I haven’t used it that much. But, when I have, it worked every time.As incredible as it is....There are some things to know:It is not weatherproof, I was going to pay for a weather box, but the installer (electrician) who set it up, said the controller should be at maximum 3 feet from the router, per instructions. I was disappointed at first, How’s this ever gonna work? My gate is in the front yard... but then he said “I’ll make it work” and he did.He mounted the controller inside my house (weather problems solved) next to my internet router on the wall. We ran an Ethernet cable from the controller through the wall and out to the gate, about 35 feet away. Yes, we had to dig a trench and put tubing for the wire, but better than relying on AT&T/cellular. I can’t stand AT&T, different story.Once connected, I had to install Amazon “Key”. With the “Key” App I could open and close the gate. This also gives Amazon the ability to open and close the gate of a package is being delivered. This Feature can be turned on or off. Then, Amazon support who helped us setup the controller (30-40 minutes they warned me in advance) had to walk me through linking the Ring app up to the “Key” app....I thought it was Ring compatible. Uh-oh, it didn’t work. The connection didn’t link. So after trying several things I thought, at least I can open the gate. But with “Key” app you can’t see the gate or who’s standing there.Luckily, we upgraded ring to the latest version and that did the trick! It connected.Ok so now let’s try... I opened the Ring App, when to Live View... there’s my gate, I pushed the button and Voila! Gate opened!!!! While I was watching on Ring camera on my phone. Pushed button again gate stopped as it should, pushed again gate went other way, just like pushing the remote control, very responsive, considering it’s going through the internet and controller and out to the gate.I’m very impressed! But because of the tough setup I give it 4 stars. For how it works, Total Awesomeness!!I can now open the gate from wherever I am in the world, without giving someone the gate code. And... I can watch them while I do it! It don’t get much better than that!UPDATE: changed rating to 5 stars. I’ve been using it for several months now. Having amazon being able to open the gate is the BEST part about it. Deliveries to my house instead of throwing packages over the gate. Fantastic!I have reset my gate several times the Ring/Key app has always worked, always connected. It just works! Love it.UPDATE #2 (Nov 20 2020): Has worked every time I use it. I must admit, Amazon opens the gate far more than I do with the controller (Maybe my family shops online too much, haha). This week, the next door neighbor's kids threw something in my yard, so my neighbor called me. "No problem" I said "Walk over and press the Ring doorbell, I'll open the gate for you." I was driving around town, so when she pressed the ring doorbell, I pulled over, I answered on my iPhone and opened the gate for her. Saw her go in. She went in my back yard. When she left, Ring notified me someone was walking buy the front yard gate again. So I checked the video and saw she was gone and closed the gate. She texted me she was done, but I already knew. All good!

Easy Install
I already have an indoor access control panel that goes outside to my gate, so I dont have nay worries about weatherpoofing this item. There is no professional install needed. Its an absolute joke. I took the two wires from my relay and connected it to the Ring Access Control Pro, THAT'S IT. It was super simple. The only part that was a pain was setting it up because the requires calling up and speaking to techniicans that seem to be very new to this product and don't know exactly what to do. I dont see why this whole process couldn't be don't within the app on your phone, its so simple and straightforward, but it required calling and I was warned in advance that the whole process would take 30-45 minutes. Except for a few bumps it got setup rather easily, it was just time-consuming. Works great, I just wish I was able to tell Alexa to turn on the gate but it seems that feature works with locks not with gate access control.UPDATE 9/10/20: Unfortunately this product has now become useless. I used to be able to open my door through the ring app when someone rings the bell but now when I click the "+" sign on my phone it takes about 15 seconds for the lock button to show up before I can access the controller to open my door. Ring support has not answered my emails as wellUPDATE 11/19/20: Still no response from Ring Technical Support about this bug. Now the lock icon is GONE from my Ring video screen when someone rings the bell. Thins product has become worthless
