MTech USA MT-674 Fixed Blade Knife, Black Hook Blade, Black G10 Handle, 4-Inch Overall

I bought this little knife because I wanted a non-folding knife to use as an everyday knife. I can't comment on the sheath as I tossed it as soon as I got it.I use this knife in a belt case (Amazon #B000Q9GG80) along with a multi-tool (Amazon #B001E6QWBA). They both fit in the case perfectly and I can unsnap the case, pull out this knife and put it back all one-handed. Handy-handy.I particularly like the 'claw' aspect of the knife. I was a little doubtful about it at first, but it's neat because you can 'pull' the knife when you're cutting with it. I cut a lot of shipping boxes open and it's very easy to poke the tip through the packing tape and 'pull' it along. Makes opening boxes really easy. Even makes it easy to cut cardboard.The little indentation for your finger makes it easy to control. Also, the big curve of the thing helps protect the edge because only the tip and the backside of the blade contact anything in the case. Help keeps the edge sharp.Overall, I have high praise for this little knife. It works great for general utility cutting.Anybody that buys this as a 'defense' knife is out of their mind though. This thing is waaaay too small and non-pointy to be of any use for something like that. The only way it could help if you're attacked is if you pull it out and the attacker laughs so hard they have a heart attack.

Be very careful when pulling knife from it's case. This puppy cuts through flesh like a hot knife through butter, very sharp point. Once you work it in and out of the casing several times you will be able to pull on it, while around your neck, and it will break loose without breaking the chain which is also very strong. I'm left handed and even when I turn it around I still can't see it under my shirt. Perfect compact size that fit's comfortably in your hand with a fantastic grip. The "used" look of the knife is by design, look at the box it comes in. Very sturdy. Just heavy enough to hang around your neck or put into your pocket but without weighing you down. No joke, be careful with this little fella. It's a cross between a Raptor and a cat claw. A must have for a "taken by surprise" self defense situation. This knife blows the doors off my other knives of similar design and much, much, much, more inexpensive and made of equal or better quality. I recommend getting the Smith's PP1 Pocket Pal Multi-function knife sharpener for "IF" your MTECH ever gets dull.

I like it. Pretty happy with the purchase. Very cool knife for the price, the sheath is on a lanyard which seems sturdy. I just wish the sheath had a belt clip, preferably on both sides, so you could choose which side and angle of draw.Atleast a thought on buying with lanyard or belt clip sheath. Just a thought for the future.

Perfect little knife!! Great size for what I’m looking for. I hear a lot of people complaining about the sheath but it’s perfect. There seems to be two different positions the knife can be put in. The first is all the way and it won’t come out until a lot of force is applied. The second the knife stays in but is easier to pull out. Just don’t push it to the second click and it’s amazing. My only complaints is the chain but that’s easy to replace.

The shape of this knife is perfect for opening boxes, and for the price, it is pretty good quality, but it is near impossible to get out of the sheath, I bought this knife about a year ago, and finally just threw it in a drawer because the sheath never loosened up.

This knife is the best small knife I own and has become the only knife I carry. This is a potentially devastating defensive weapon when used properly and most of that is due to it being tiny. It can be held normally with the index finger positioned in the groove right under the blade but the real power of this knife comes from being held in reverse grip like a karambit.I have fairly average sized hands and this knife fits perfectly when held in a reverse. For me the point with the hole(on the right side of the picture) fits right into the knuckle on the index finger while the metal point right at the bottom of the blade fits into the joint of the pinkie. When you hold it like this you understand how scary this knife actually is.The underhand grip allows the user the full range of defensive postures in terms of protecting yourself from strikes. When held underhand the hook of the blade barely protrudes from the fist. Nobody would see this knife in your hand unless you wanted them to and one proper hook with this knife would cut extremely deep. I've always been a fan of karambits and own 2 others. Modern karambits are much bigger than they traditionally used to be and I find that the small size of this knife is ideal. This knife would be a steal at twice the price.

I wanted a knife for deep concealment as we will head into the summer months soon and I shopped around a long time. I found this one and it's completely perfect. The knife stays in the sheathed so well. It is a neck knife but I wear it with the chain over one arm/shoulder and fed the knife down under my bra, on my left side below my arm pit. The bra band keeps the sheathed close to my body and further reduces printing. The chain keeps it very secure and gives me something to pull against when drawing. All it takes is a simple, quick reach under my top and I'm ready to defend myself.

This is my first MTECH purchase. I read the dimensions on the knife before i purchased it but still was not prepared for how small it really is. For the price it is a well built knife, the grip is just enough for a last ditch self defense knife. The deep dip in the front provided excellent control with the index finger in it. I wish the grip had a bit more aggressive texture on it since its so small. Not much surface area for good contact with it. For the price this cannot be beat by any manufacturer as far as the fit and finish of the knife go. The sheath it crap. Not much else to say there. Low quality plastic with a cheap chain. That is the only reason i cannot give it 5 stars. MTECH, if you read this pay attention. Get the quality sheaths like Cold Steel has with its knives. I would pay an extra 10 bucks to have this knife with a GOOD sheath. Excellent knife, CRAP sheath.
