Not nearly as nice as older rods
I own 6-8 Tsunami rods, 3 of them being "travel rods". The feel and overall finish of the rods were top notch.The new rod costs more than I previously payed (what else hasn't gone up in price) and being of a medium action, feels stiffer than the 8-15 lb medium heavy action rod.The surface finish isn't as smooth as the older rods. The eyes are Fuji ceramic and well centered.I hope I'm wrong on my impressions, by time will tell.

Very nice rod to bring in your checked bag
Very nice rod to bring in your checked bag. Can easily throw 1/2oz, and I threw up to 1oz with it (SP minnow) no problem, but really it starts to get "lobby" at about 3/4oz. Matched with a Penn Battle 3000 size and 20lb spiderwire stealth braid. Landed 8 fish in California on it up to 6lbs and I just horsed them out of the rocks (kelp bass). My first pacific surf-caught fish. Tsunami makes great, reliable, inexpensive, products. I fish 150-200 days a year, in the surf, kayak, and lakes, and I use many of their products. FANTASTIC warranty as well, which they ALWAYS honor. Life long supporter. This rod is no exception- get it, and get out there.

Great travel rod.
I paired this rod with a Daiwa BG 3000 and 240 yards of 20 pound braid. This will be my go to salt water combo for inshore/dock fishing.
