Why aren't the tips centered? Why would we want a wobbly tool?
This little center drill is almost okay. The 60-degree-angled cutters are well-machined. However the tip of the tool is not centered. So you can't use this tool to start the hole (it wobbles as it touches the work surface). But you can use this tool to clean up the edges of freshly-drilled holes, or to put a 60-degree counter-sink on a hole (or create a 60-degree dimple for your lathe center).I suspect this didn't pass quality control at the factory, so it got liquidated here on Amazon. Surprisingly, this is not the worst center drill available. I mean this tool is almost okay, so it gets three stars instead of two.

Great for the price!
These are great little center drills. They seem to be high quality and get the hole started in the center of the work piece. And they are not expensive.

Not as described.
I received the center drill this weekend and went to start my job on Monday. I measured the tip before placing in the chuck and noticed the diameter of the drill portion was over .040โ. This would have ruined the piece I was making. The center drill says #00. Not sure whatโs going on here. Unfortunately, I have two more of these being mailed today.

Great center drill
This is a much needed piece if you drill much especially doing small work as a starter to keep small bits from moving and bending starting.

Good quality
I use this spotting drill for clean starts before drilling when mounted in my lathe or drill press. Provides a center start and will not walk like a drill bit. Great for countersinking drywall screws in wood.
