The approximate 7 inch width, if it's even that, is for the outside measurement which includes trim on both sides. So if you're lucky, it's 6.5 inches at best. The bill of my caps are between 7.5 inches to 8 inches when flat. For reference, I wear 7-5/8. So the only way the cap fits is if 1) you flex the bill to make it narrower (not an option for those who care and appreciate caps) or 2) you leave it flat and let the bill push out the sides, which is what I'm stuck doing. In this case, the cap rests not in the bottom surface but on top of the protruding sides.

Product looks just like picture, it’s fits a lot of hats (if you tightly packed them) mine fit about 20. It seems really flimsy at first with nothing in it, but is a nice storage system once filled. If it’s filled partial way I don’t recommend putting it under something heavy since your hats will be flattened. I didn’t even need the 4 storage bags, and I thought I did for my husbands collection. Very pleased.

These bags are cheaply made and just too darn small yo carry anything much less caps as they advertise. I regret buying them.

Remember it’s for storing hats. The zip could be more heavy duty, but it’s for storing hats. All my baseball hats fit great. A easy 12 to 15 hats can be stored. I like it, you could travel with it but it will definitely be my nodded more durable luggage.

Lightweight and durable. I fit quite a few dvds in this case with no problems.

This is a great narrow see thru bag... seems strong enough for what it is.It is not super strong but its quite thick and would certainly protect the contents.Know what your getting and then I would recommend this 4 bag
