Let me start off by saying that I LOVE these dolls. I bought a ton of the series 1, despite the problems I had with the blind box presentation. It seems like they tried to correct some of those problems... But caused new ones.Pros -You can choose 1 of 3 pre-assembled dolls with real hair. The hair really is a lovely touch.The 2nd doll is no longer random parts, but a complete doll, 1 of 3 options for each of the colors (pink, purple & blue)Boys! I really loved the Monster High boys who were pretty androgynous, so I love the look of these guys.Fewer pieces to collect, less likely to get duplicates.Cons -Most of the pieces in these collections are re-colors from previous pieces from series 1. Very cheap.Without the ability to buy the randomized boxes without a pre-assembled doll, it'd be silly to buy more when you know you're getting a duplicate.Apart from heads and torsos, the boys use the exact same parts as the girls (I don't mind, but more differences would have been nice. It just seems cheap.)MORE expensive! These were already too expensive, now I won't buy more than just one.

The capsules aren't randomized like they were in series 1. They come in one of 3 sets for each of the preassembled dolls. You can't buy the surprise box on its own. You have to buy the double pack, which costs more. The B.O.T.s are just flat-chested versions of the girls.Same hips, same face mold. That's a plus for me since it doesn't interfere with the interchangeability of the pieces.

Bought these for my daughter and wanted her feedback. She said they are super fun and cute and you can swap stuff between them very easily. Her on complaint and shy it only get 4 stars is that the legs pop off super easily when playing with them and if she puts skirts on some the legs won't go on at all.

The 2 pack guarantees that you will have the one with real hair

Skirts get in the way of the doll torso snapping on to the legs. It was like no one ever tried putting the clothes on the doll before marketing them. Very poor design, other than the clothes, dolls are ok.

My middle daughter got one of these sets for Christmas, she didn't care for it so handed it down to her younger sister who is 5. I got this set to help her have more pieces to play with.This set has two dolls included, a male and a female. For us, the girl was revealed and was exactly as you see is in the pictures -- silky soft hair, cute purse and watch accessories. The secret reveal doll was male and has short fuzzy, almost velvet hair and a backpack for his accessory. Both dolls have a stand which she likes for display purposes. The pieces can be exchanged with the set we have from the first series which allows her to change up her play periodically, although she has a favorite configuration of bodies and seems to stick with it.The original series had some issues for us where the parts wouldn't stay together or some parts (like the crown) wouldn't go together well at all and needed glued. All the pieces in this set worked well for us, but it didn't have the complexity of the first series so that is to be expected.

My 7 year old daughter loves Capsule Chix and this edition is a fun addition to the line. This version comes with the doll you can see already assembled and the other box contains the mystery doll that could also be a boy or B.O.T. (Boy On Trend). If you are new to Capsule Chix the mystery doll comes in capsules that are reminiscent of the quarter toy machines and they even spin out of the packaging in the same way. This makes for a fun blind bag toy experience and the packaging is reusable if kids want to put something in the capsules to do it again. Each capsule then contains part of the doll to put together or her outfit. The dolls can swap outfits or pieces.There are different versions of Capsule Chix and this one is Shimmer Surge which adds a shimmer to the dolls outfits. My daughter really loves that the doll you can see came with what she considers upgraded touchable doll like hair and not just molded hair so it can be brushed. She was hoping for a boy doll to add to her collection but received a girl doll so she really wants another pack of these. With the one doll visible it’s nice to know if I do buy her another pack I can ensure she gets a doll she doesn’t have. Capsule Chix are a great blind bag toy because kids get the fun experience of opening it up and the excitement of the reveal but it’s also a toy that will actually get played with. My daughter enjoys playing with hers and swapping the pieces out between the dolls.

Missing part - sold as 2 dolls- 1 doll in complete no legs.... otherwise would have been a great present. Usually if a product incomplete a company would send a replacement asap- we were asked to package and send back which is difficult to negotiate with a little girl when it is her birthday present. For a relatively expensive doll unacceptable that the product is missing parts.
